dignitas unveil new roster

Three months after their Danish lineup departed for North, dignitas have unveiled a new roster formed around the ex-FaZe trio Mikail "Maikelele" Bill, Ricardo "fox" Pacheco and Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad.

The rumors about Mikail "⁠Maikelele⁠" Bill joining forces with two other former FaZe players, Ricardo "⁠fox⁠" Pacheco and Joakim "⁠jkaem⁠" Myrbostad, were proven to be true today as the trio was signed by dignitas. Along with them, joining the European mixture will be Faruk "⁠pita⁠" Pita and Ruben "⁠RUBINO⁠" Villarroel.

It has been confirmed that both RUBINO and jkaem have been bought out of their existing contracts (with North and FaZe respectively) to create this roster.

Maikelele, jkaem and fox will reunite in dignitas

There is a lot of history between the five players: pita and Maikelele played together in SK before moving on to be a part of NiP—one as a coach and one as a player—and were recently teammates in qwerty.

Maikelele also played with RUBINO and jkaem early in 2015 under LGB, with the Norwegian duo moving on to represent Copenhagen Wolves later that year. Before the end of 2015, jkaem departed the Swedish-Norwegian lineup to join G2 (later FaZe) where he played with fox and Maikelele.

In the official press release, fox, who took the title of the captain of the team, said the following:

"Team Dignitas is a powerhouse brand, now strengthened by the backing of the Philadelphia 76ers; we are extremely proud to represent their colors."

"We are eager to begin practicing with this new lineup, we’ve all known each other a long time and believe we will have good synergy. Through hard work and preparation we will do our best to live up to the expectations of our fans and become a top, international team. We have the most supportive fans in professional gaming and we know they will be excited about this new line-up."

Dignitas President Michael “ODEE” O’Dell stated the following:

"As we promised, we are returning to CS:GO in a big way, with two outstanding teams, elite players and incredible personalities."

"Signing this incredible team of players is just another step in the new foundation we are building for this legendary franchise. With each new player and team we sign, our fans have responded with overwhelming support. Recruiting and signing the best playing talent in the world is just the first step for our organization. We look forward to several more exciting announcements supporting our fans and partners in the coming weeks."

The press release also revealed which roles the players will take, with Maikelele being the primary AWP, fox slotting in as the second sniper in the team, RUBINO swapping to an entry fragging role, jkaem rifling and pita calling the shots from the IGL position.

If you are talking about the last majors (refresh my memory if I am wrong) navi lost two Astralis (QF) twice and SK once. Even though I believe IGL are important, at the time I think it was inevitable. Seized is IGL now and IMO he is fragging better then Zues when he was in Navi . Even though I have been saying this to myself for a long time, I just think they need to settle down the roles and with their coach. If they do, They are a solid contender for top 5, maybe top 3 in the foreseeable future.

TBH as a navi fan, that was border-line heartbreaking. I agree with you on consistency though. I wrote a reply on that same Navi vs Faze game about how I think I depends more on how navi play then faze "I don't know much on the consistency of Faze, but I think it depends more on how Na'Vi play. If Flamie plays consistently as navi needs him to play If s1mple/Guardian don't have a bad day and Edward doesn't bot" I don't mention seized partial because he is igl and partially because he seems to be consistently not the bottom player If Navi should make a player change, I would think that Edward would have to be replaced, Its now very rare for him to be in the top of the leader board. (unlike with Zues on inferno when he dropped a 30 bomb in major)

Most Norwegians understand Swedish. And eventho it's easy to say some swedish words and sentences most of us do not speak swedish. If norwegian were sort of a swedish dialect they would probably understand us better than they do.But the language barrier is very small yes. Eventho southern norwegian is more closely related to danish, we understand swedish better because they dont't sound like they have a potato in their throat when pronouncing words.

I'm not sure if you are trolling or not, but Fox subbing in for SK doesn't mean a whole lot. Sure he could hold his own, but only because he had far superior players to do most of the work for him. Dignitas' new lineup won't be able to do that for him lol, and he's never been a "Tier 1" player. Sure he can hold his own sometimes, but he's really more of a Tier 2 player. People have their limits in terms of how good they are and who they can and can't compete with / against. It becomes very obvious when these kinds of players are put against the world's best teams.

My first comment here and i'm shocked with so many words without any sense -.- do you know what you're writting? Some of this players, pita is one of them, are players that already show their skill before you guys talk, walk or born. Jkaem was a monster at Cluj-Napoca, so, skill confirmed, need to comeback to that level. Maikelele was the best after Fifflaren that nip had, never was the problem, and need more skill confirmation that he showed? What cs you guys see? minecraft cs? Rubino i really don't saw many dignitas games, but last year Team Dignitas showed up great, and he was part of that well suceseed line. Pita is a comeback to the scene, full time player now, need to train os aim a lot, will have time, knowledge he have a lot, great player from 1.6, so, is wait to see, if he perfomes well like 1.6 times or if he turns on a markeloff law. Fox, that's one that really don't need to say nothing, just see last Major, this man playing by SK Gaming, you'll see what to expect. I know that i'm suspect, but he's really the star of the team. This 5 on their best, wow, be a really nice team. With them all on their best level, easy top 15. My opinion.

Maikelele showed up legit awping skills while standing in for nip last year,fox being the secondary awper..im wondering more about his rifle skills then awping but we'll have to see,jkeam playing the rifler role is good,he can be potential star player for the team if he can be consistant and play freely,rubino as entry fragger we'll see..rubino was never stats warrior but he had games where he showed up a lot,pita as igl is a good move since he was coaching a lot,but his firepower is really questionable.

Three of these players (Maikelele, fox and jkaem) were 1 round away from a final of a Major at Club where they would have been favorites vs NaVi though.

I meant at Cluj when they lost vs NV on semi final after having 3 match points on Inferno (but they had to score that round on T side though). NV at the end won quite easily vs NaVi (16-14 16-5). It's not like these players don't have potential ... Maikelele was a good 5th for NiP in the past months, fox played with SK at Major, Rubino was on a team which was ranked 2nd by HLTV after winning Epicenter with dignitas. jkaem wasn't amazing on FaZe but it was FaZe which is a pretty good team, pita seems the weak point one though.

yeh i see where you're going with this. Of course some of them has potential. But we all know that this game is a team game. I don't think this specific team will win a major or anything at all. They tried before with some of these players but I'm not seeing this working out at all. Maybe if they add some new players to the roster and perhaps they can be a top 10 team after all.
