CS:GO update with various changes

Valve have released a new update, which brings, among others, changes to the User Interface, the GOTV and two weapons of CS:GO.

Following tonight's update, Revolver and Negev are no longer a part of the available weapons on competitive matchmaking. While the first has had its "firing delay significantly reduced", the latter has a new sound, a "reduced price" and "new attributes" that increase its suppressive fire.

A new "recent teammates and invites" User Interface has been added to the main menu. From now on, it is also possible to connect with others "using CS:GO friend codes".

As for the GOTV, its connections will now have Steam Datagram Relay – which is basically a protocol that not only prevents DDoS attacks but can also guarantee the best quality for the viewer – in "most of the regions".

Besides some crashes and minor fixes, the new map Canals has also suffered some adjustments as you can read in the official changelog:

Added convar mp_items_prohibited which takes a comma-delimited list of weapon definition indices to prohibit from purchase on the server.
Lowered volume of ambient sound in de_vertigo to match ambient volume of other maps.
Fixed several OSX graphics crashes related to running out of vertex shader constants.
Fixed a game crash related to game stats.

fixed visible nodraw underneath a bridge
improved clipping under T side bridges
fixed Z-fighting below CT arches
adjusted courtyard statues and stairs for better movement
fixed various fade distance issues
widened B site and palace doors
aligned palace windows better
fixed floating clothesline
adjusted pecklesteiner
fixed missing texture at back alley
removed clip from garden lamp post because it’s at jumping height
prevented planting bomb on railing at A
removed lamp posts between A and CT spawn

The new MP5 is silenced, presumably to take out the UMP from CT-sides, and make the UMP T-side exclusive. I'm sure you know why, don't play stupid. The UMP has extremely high armor penetration, on top of being able to deal 92 damage a headshot at close range, having decent range, high mobility, 25 bullets and works great when paired with a rifle on sites it's too powerful for teams on CT sides for it's price. HLTV wrote a whole article on it.

another silenced weapon for ct's is a bad idea imo. especially an smg. anti eco/force rounds are difficult enough with the off angles smg players hold. an smg player who can kill someone silently, then also run and gun when spotted is a way too op hybrid skill set imo

there was none game was fine in 1.6 we didnt need all weapons to be viable and certainly not new ones. By this logic maybe we need this new mp5 but you dont know it yet. But somehow they will fit in meta

1.6 was boring to play it was the same thing over and over again. eco's were useless, we had no choice to play but with deagle and that was it. now economy is more complex, you have a lot more pistols for different playstyles and you can play ump, shotgun and stuff like that in weapon rounds

Have you tried it yet? This thing can't hit shit even in close range now, if you choose to tap/burst fire. You have to hold mouse 1 and wait for it to gain accuracy.

suppression sounds like a great idea. they should also add a blur effect to players that are being suppressed for it to be more effective. after that they can add spotting feature so that you could shot people in smokes and lastly make a blinding sun. a blinding sun is the single most important feature for a competitive shooter to be successful.

Negev might be viable to be used as supressive fire. Maybe make it so that only if you crouch and stay still it's accurate, standing should be really inaccurate. I would actually like to see supression used by pros more even with rifles.

I meant they started tracking how long you have owned a particular game and how many hours you have played in 2007/08. For example even if you had a Steam account from 2003 with CS 1.6 on it from the start, then it would still show that you have owned the game for 9yrs not 14 in 2017.

Just to add to kids that CS is older than Steam itself. Steam was released in 03 and worth nothing till Source release. Late 08 they started to record gamers behaviour. It was not 07/08 , it was late 08 they start to record. 07 was Source release and they were busy with it. More than a year after source release they started steam for real. And Source was not sold on Steam...
