fREAKAZOiD joins Morior Invictus

Former Cloud9 member Ryan "fREAKAZOiD" Abadir has joined ESEA MDL side Morior Invictus, team member Alex "lanhero" Suarez has revealed.

The 24-year-old has been out of action since December, when Echo Fox allowed all of their players to pursue other opportunities as they looked to build "a world-class winning CS:GO team in 2017" - something that has not yet happened.

Together with his brother, Austin "⁠Cooper⁠" Abadir, Ryan "⁠freakazoid⁠" Abadir has linked up with one of ESEA MDL's newcomers, Morior Invictus, who topped last season's ESEA Intermediate division.

fREAKAZOiD will compete in ESEA MDL this season

The ESEA league will kick off on September 24, with 24 teams battling it out for the chance to secure promotion to ESL Pro League Season 7 and to attend the ESEA Global Challenge, later this year.

Morior Invictus will compete in ESEA MDL with:

You realize this could also be Freak's way of getting back into the scene right? He wanted to take a break, and it's a smart move to not just go straight into a tier 2 or 3 NA team like Complexity imo. I can guaranfuckingtee you that he's had offers from "better" (yes, still shit in the international scene but that's not what we're talking about) teams like Rogue, Denial, or Col. He's been playing with his brothers at a lot of local lans in CA and from his tweets he's been having a great time. Shame on him for enjoying himself and wanting to play on a team with his brother.

It's not a smart to go to the lowest tier at all, you're an idiot that doesnt know what hes talking about. 1) Freakazoid is good enough to be in a team like coL and start getting back. 2) His brother, who aparently wants to be an igl, would definitely benefit much more being in a team with another igl or a good coach rather than being with Freakazoid. 3) I never understood this retarded thing u.s americans do when nobody wants to play with them, they act like they "just wanna have fun" in a semi pro team, they try their hardest to qualify for tier1 or 2 events, then they finally qualify for an event, they go there , they get ass-fucking-raped, they rage, they start thinking they are going nowhere but want to believe that its fine because "is just 4 the lawls" ... you tell me how the fuck is that fun?? .-.

A lot of people in the NA CS scene love freak. I don't know of any that dislike him. He's said he doesn't want to join a team until he's ready. If he doesn't feel he's ready, then let him do what he wants. I understand that you and I wouldn't hesitate to join the best team possible, but he has his own life. He likes streaming as well so maybe he's not ready to give that up either.

I didn't notice that you linked to TSM matches since you mentioned c9 matches in the post. And yes, in mid 2015 was the point TSM had finally gotten over the hump and COULD beat fnatic, however, they were back to losing to Fnatic during the time c9 went on their summer run of beating Fnatic. TSM however, were not and never kryptonite to fnatic like the other dude said, since the matches could go either way and were expected to. Kryptonite is generally used to describe a clearly worse team that beats a better team disproportionately as to what is expected.

kryptonite is a stretch, but even before and after those wins TSM always played fnatic close or stomped them in some bo1s due to being a good matchup for them in that time period. Wouldn't say kryptonite has to be a worse team beating a better team, fnatic was considered LDLC/nV kryptonite due to envyus pretty much winning everything fnatic didnt but couldnt beat them. I still consider fnatic a better team at the time, as do most.

sure, it's not a strict definition, but that's what I usually associate it with. Like back when Nadal was lower ranked than Federer, he was Federer's kryptonite cause he'd beat him almost every time as a lower rank, but after he took over the #1 spot from Federer, you didn't really think of him as "kryptonite" anymore. Kryptonite kills Superman remember, or the best player/team.

Fair enough. I just think TSM is defined as kryptonite for the time because even when they lost vs fnatic they always put up a good match that seemed like it could go either way, they also did beat them in bo1s after their bo3 and bo5 win and they never really matched up after that since they both broke down in the quarters in Cluj. But i'll agree it wasn't "kryptonite" because TSM winning wasn't really ever a given when facing fnatic.

People who called him trash have no fucking idea how team CS works. Every game I watched that Ryan did poorly in it was because C9's overall executions and strategies set him up for nothing. Their flashes were fucking terrible, and they gave ryan so little room to get any entries. Ryan was an amazing player to watch because when he was getting kills, it usally wasn't because of any great setup, it was because he just went out and outaimed people. I remember that one EnvyUs game lol where the strat was literally "Send Freak out boost alone with no smokes mid or flashes" and he headshot all 3 mid.
