XPC confirm return with two foreigners

XPC Gaming has announced their return to the competitive scene with a lineup featuring two foreigners.

After going inactive last year, XPC saw their former trio of Cosmin-Mihai "⁠cosmeeeN⁠" Butuc, Cristian "⁠sXe⁠" Niță and Adrian "⁠XELLOW⁠" Guță join Nexus, with Cosmin-Andrei "⁠WHitE⁠" Cetanas and Valentin "⁠SEMINTE⁠" Bodea following suit shortly afterwards.

sXe, SEMINTE and WHitE, all of whom had left Nexus in October, have now decided to play under XPC again alongside two foreigners: Matej "⁠MaTaFe⁠" Fekonja, who represented Slovenia in the online portion of the 2016 World Championships, and Maksim "⁠t0rick⁠" Zaikin, who played for NOTBAD at the most recent CIS Minor.

According to sXe, the team decided against building a full Romanian roster due to the current level of the country's scene, which, in his opinion, is "quite low."

"After SEMINTE and I parted ways with Nexus due to bad communication between players and management, we decided to create a new team alongside WHiTE and two other romanian players, but after a while we saw that the current state of CS in Romania is quite low and we felt like trying something new.", sXe said to HLTV.org.

"So we thought about teaming up with international guys who had a bit of experience and that's how we added t0rick and matafe.

"We are practising every day hoping we could achieve something good one day. I am really happy to represent XPC as i think we can reach new heights together."

The squad already made their debut for XPC earlier this month, making it into the Nation Elite Esports Cup Balkan Qualifier grand final—which they lost against Windigo by a 1-2 scoreline.

XPC's new roster looks as follows:
