WESG 2017 World Finals viewer's guide

Held at the Haikou International Convention & Exhibition Center, the WESG 2017 World Finals will run from Tuesday to Sunday with a total of 28 teams battling it out for a share of the $1.5 million prize pool.

The event was due to have 32 attending squads, but Oleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev's Ukraine, NOREG, Viva Algeria and EMC have withdrawn from the competition. Still, the team list includes some impressive names such as SK, Cloud9 and fnatic.

WESG will kick off with a best-of-one group stage

Below you can find the group draw for the tournament, which includes Group E and H with only two teams, who are through to the next stage but will still have to play each other for seeding purposes:

As for the event's schedule, the first two days will be all about the first group stage, whose contestants will play in a best-of-one round-robin format. From there, the top two teams from each will advance to the second group stage, where 16 teams will be split into four round-robin groups, this time around in a best-of-two format.

On Saturday and Sunday, the best eight teams from the second group stage will move on to the tournament's playoffs, a best-of-three, single-elimination bracket. The full schedule looks as follows:
