friberg signs for Heroic

After spending the last two weeks standing in for Heroic, Adam "friberg" Friberg has signed a long-term contract with the Danish organization.

HEROIC have now completed their roster following the loss of Jakob "⁠JUGi⁠" Hansen and Marco "⁠Snappi⁠" Pfeiffer, who were transferred to OpTic in late April, while Patrick "⁠es3tag⁠" Hansen stepped back into the active roster.

Since then, Adam "⁠friberg⁠" Friberg has been standing in for the team in ESL Pro League Season 7, where the team finished in eighth place but ended up replacing HellRaisers at the finals in Dallas, as Özgür "⁠woxic⁠" Eker ran into visa issues.

friberg officially joins Heroic

The Dallas event, which begins on May 15, will be friberg's first tournament as an official member of HEROIC, although the team will travel across the pond with Jorgen "⁠cromen⁠" Robertsen, who is standing in for the illness-struck Ruben "⁠RUBINO⁠" Villarroel.

The Nordic team is also confirmed to attend CS:GO Asia Championships, which will take place on June 14-18 in Shanghai, China.

"I’ve had a break from the competitive part doing some streaming but I really felt like something was missing and I am super excited to be back playing professional CS:GO! I am a very competitive person and I love winning, so I will work extremely hard and do everything I can to lift another trohpy." friberg said in a statement.

"I feel like we have a good mix of young and experienced players on Heroic, and even more importantly, there is a willingness to work hard and to constantly improve on the team, which is will help us reach our goals!"

sadly es3tag has been pretty disappointing ever since he joined this roster. Looked like he had potential before too. Niko is alright but still no valde /JuGi etc, not much impact. MODDII has loads of experience but only moments of brilliance. Rubino is solid and probably the teams best player now, when he starts playing again. And Fri berg has some potential but is unlikely to ever be as impressive as he was in early NiP days as other players have developed more and I've taken him. Average at best roster now.

I think es3tag actually played very well the first few games he played after being benched for awhile, he can do it, he just need to up his game a bit. Same story with Rubino, he played great as standin for Astralis but that level of performance is far and few between now. Niko, MODDII and Friberg can all be very good, but they need to adopt a style like Astralis to win big.

I think this a lot. Amazing how many of them don't seem to realise just how good they've got it right now with the ridiculous amount of money in this game. The majority of top players will likely never earn as much again in their lifetimes as they earn playing CSGO but they take it for granted and seemingly have no concept of this.

Norwegian, Danish and Swedish are basically the same languages. However, unfortunately many people (especially in Denmark, ironically) struggle to understand the other two. And avg. Norwegian understand basically 85-90%+ of spoken Swedish, and 100% if they get used to it, and probably about 50-60% of spoken Danish, and 95-100% if they communicate or live in Denmark for a while. I would guess all Swedes who have some knowledge of Norwegian (surprisingly many has none), or have been to Norway understand it close to perfectly, at least eastern Norwegian dialects, they may struggle with the vast diversity of Norw. dialects. Same goes with Danes, at least the older generation, but many young danes struggle pretty hard, and doesn't seem to care to try and just start speaking English. Friberg probably has a basic understanding of Danish and will probably adapt really fast, he's a pretty smart dude. Cromen will probably struggle with the fast Danish calls, but will probably adapt pretty fast as well. Edit: Oh you're a Dane haha, didn't look at the flag.
