Fam143 disqualified from Americas Minor qualifier over VAC banned account

Fam143 have been disqualified from the closed qualifier for the Americas Minor after it was discovered that one of their players had a VAC-banned account to his name.

FACEIT did not disclose who the player in question is, mentioning only that he had a "secondary VAC-banned account", which he "failed to report before a set time."

Fam143 had earned a spot in the closed qualifier after finishing top two in the third open qualifier following a victory over The Entourage in the semi-final stage.

The Entourage will replace Fam143 in the qualifier

According to Dust2.us, David "⁠Xp3⁠" Garrido's side will be taking Fam143's spot in the closed qualifier, which will kick off in just a few hours.

Fam143's disqualification is the second VAC-related incident to affect the final qualifying stages for the Minor. Last month, Fierce Tiger were disqualified from the Chinese qualifier for the Asia Minor after fielding a player connected to a VAC-banned account.

Im part of the org, can confirm what happened is the alt account has vac over 1.2k days old and also the problem was not the ban it was that apperently the players had to let face it know that there was a vac on spare account

Premier-wise KQLY's ban was set for two years since the day of his VAC, ex-IBP's was never defined and probably got lifted by the tournament orgs after their involvement outside of the game. I'm curious how Ghost is even allowed to play in the qualifiers for the major qualifier with steel.

Steel cannot play in the minor or major and cannot travel with the team if they win. Honestly, Valve may remove them somewhere down the line if they make it pass this stage because banned players cannot have any affiliation with teams playing.

Because he didnt report that he had a banned account and out of the 100 of teams that made it to the open qualifier its hard to check the 5 players on each team. Its easier to do it once theyve made it out of quals and then they can investigate each player.
