ESL Pro League Season 8 Europe comes to a close

The European division of ESL Pro League Season 8 has come to a close with the top seven teams locking spots at the finals.

A month and a half of action saw the 14 teams participating in the European division play two best-of-ones against each other for seven spots at the seasonal finals in Odense, Denmark at the beginning of December.

Astralis dominated the league from start to finish, locking the top spot with 62 points, followed by Natus Vincere, BIG, and North, all of whom had their place at the finals decided before the last day of competition came to a close.

Astralis topped the league

After their last matches, HellRaisers, MOUZ, and G2 closed out the top seven and made their way to the finals. The final standings of ESL Pro League Season 8 are the following:

1. Denmark Astralis - Finals
2. Ukraine Natus Vincere - Finals
3. Germany BIG - Finals
4. Denmark North - Finals
5. Other HellRaisers - Finals
6. Europe MOUZ - Finals
7. France G2 - Finals
8. Bulgaria Windigo - $18,000
9. Turkey ex-Space Soldiers - $17,000
10. Denmark HEROIC - $16,000
11. Europe FaZe - $15,000
12. Sweden Ninjas in Pyjamas - $14,000 (S8 Relegation)
13. Sweden fnatic - $13,000 (S8 Relegation)
14. Poland AGO - $12,000 (Relegated to MDL S30)

AGO have been automatically relegated to Mountain Dew League after placing last in the EU division, while Ninjas in Pyjamas and fnatic will take part in the relegation process.

At the moment, the following teams are qualified for the ESL Pro League Season 8 Finals, set to take place on December 4-9:

Later today, the last matches of ESL Pro League's North American division will determine the sixth team advancing from the region, with INTZ, Cloud9, eUnited, and Complexity still in the running.

The last spot will come from Latin America League's best-of-five grand final between Sharks and Isurus, which is currently underway.

Well deserved! Good luck! ez for BIG BIG win LAN

Even when fnatic were dominating in the past, sometimes any teams could beat them Now Astralis are actually strong so teams from top-3 hltv (navi, liquid) can't even win a map against them I actually think it's the best team in cs go for all time

They still lose maps and haven't won every tournament. In 11 tournaments they have 7 victories, two 2nd place and two 3-4th place (which is insane by anybody's standard). So they are not unbeatable but if they win the grand slam and the next major, then i believe that they have indeed created a new era. The era isn't quite here yet but it is in the making. Likely all 5 of them will be in hltv's top 12 of 2018, maybe even top 10.

got 2/0 ed by faze and should have lost to a new fnatic lineup just last tournament..+not even making to the final at blast but yeah "unbeatable"

Either you are fan of a team or you are not. Everyone can be plastic and support the winning teams at that moment. North are top 9, won DH masters through to finals in ECS and ESL. As a Dane, I'm just happy to see Denmark as the best CS country.

I think top1 in MDL takes 1 spot in EPL and top2 and top3 fight vs fnatic and NiP for another 2. Kinguin/3DMAX will play for 1st/2nd and Epsilon vs VP for 3rd/4th in MDL. Example Nip vs 3rd MDL Fnatic vs 2nd MDL Winner of nip/3rd vs winner of fnatic/2nd (winner qualifies) Loser of nip/3rd vs loser of fnatic/2nd (winner plays loser of previous match for 2nd spot)
