ESL Pro League S8 Finals groups determined

ESL has revealed the groups for the upcoming Pro League Season 8 Finals.

The tournament seeding was based off the team's path to the offline event, with Astralis and MIBR, the leading teams of the online divisions, securing the top seeds, while ViCi and Sharks were the bottom seeds.

The Danish side, who will attend the event as reigning EPL champions, have the kinder group, with only two more teams currently in the top 10, Liquid (#3) and BIG (#10).

The groups and match-ups for the EPL Finals are out

MIBR have been placed in the 'Group of Death', along with four other top 10 teams, Natus Vincere (#2), MOUZ (#7), NRG (#8) and North (#9), as well as fellow Brazilian side Sharks, whom they will be facing in the first round of the tournament.

Below you can find the groups:

The match-ups for the first round are the following:

Group A:

Denmark Astralis vs. China ViCi
Australia Renegades vs. Other HellRaisers
North America Liquid vs. France G2
Brazil INTZ vs. Germany BIG

Group B:

Brazil MIBR vs. Brazil Sharks
United States NRG vs. Denmark North
Canada Ghost vs. Europe MOUZ
Ukraine Natus Vincere vs. Australia ORDER

The ESL Pro League Season 8 Finals will run from December 4-9 in Odense, Denmark, where a whopping $750,000 will be on offer. Should Astralis win the tournament, they will also secure the $1 million Intel Grand Slam prize.

The tournament will begin with a double-elimination group stage, with only the opening round featuring a best-of-one format. The group winners will go straight to the semi-finals, while the runners-up and the third-placed sides will progress to the quarter-finals.

Groups so unbalanced, the fuck! Anyway, I love this 16 teams format by ESL. it's so good to see a mix of so many good teams and smaller teams that don't play on this tier so often. My predictions are: Group A: Astralis Liquid BIG/HR/INTZ - I really think INTZ could surprise and would be happy seeing that Group B: MIBR NaVi mousesports
