PLG Grand Slam heavily delayed; Initial matches to be played off-stream

Due to "delay and technical issues", the first day of matches at PLG Grand Slam 2018 in Abu Dhabi will not be streamed, the organisers have told HLTV.org.

The first matchups in the GSL-style group stage at the $100,000-tournament were supposed to start Thursday at 08:00 , but around 11:00 , players were only just setting up in the arena after having waited several hours in the hotel lobby.

No games from the first day of PLG Grand Slam will be streamed online

At this point in time, it is unclear when the initial best-of-one group stage matches will start, but Power League Gaming has told HLTV.org that the first day of matches will not be streamed due to the delays and server issues.

Update: The first match has been played off-stream, with AVANGAR beating ShotCallers 16-3 on Train. The rest of opening matches are now getting under way.

Bad joke :))) Anyway, Such delays are unacceptable in 2k18 and there have to be multiple back up plans for any possible technical situation these days........that even if thousand pcs go down and no internet in the whole buildin g and no light in the whole building then still there has to be almost no delay at all as organizers have to have a back up internet connection plan from elsewhere, as well as back up power/electricity plan, as well as have other thousands pcs working, and im serious. The only Acceptable scenario for a delay would be a natural uncontrollable disaster or some sort of a building evacuation and even then should invest in a back up plan if a building evacuation takes place. If unable to provide the above then simply stay away from hosting/organizing evets and just pass on it, not a big deal, but cant have any of this happen in 2019, this isnt 2003 anymore. Make sure thats done right in 2k19, organizers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
