Complexity have announced changes to their roster, placing Jaccob "⁠yay⁠" Whiteaker on the bench as well as parting ways with coach Ronald "⁠Rambo⁠" Kim.

In the announcement, Jason Lake, the CEO of compLexity, highlighted the roster's lackluster performance as the reason for the benching of yay as well as for the decision not to extend their contract with Rambo for the upcoming year, and revealed that the organization is looking to find a new home for the 20-year-old.

He also explained the timing of the change, specifically citing the roster lock for the IEM Katowice Major, which is set for January 1.

yay's time with compLexity comes to an end after an up-and-down 2018

yay had been part of Complexity's active roster since mid-2017, when he came into the team as a replacement for Kia "⁠Surreal⁠" Man, while Rambo arrived at the beginning of 2018 after a move from MVP PK to the North American organization.

This year, after going through several lineup changes, Complexity managed to claim Legends status at the FACEIT Major in September. However, the team couldn't follow up on that result, exiting tournaments such as StarSeries i-League Season 6 and DreamHack Open Winter early, while also failing to qualify for the finals of both ECS and ESL Pro League.

Complexity's incomplete roster currently is:

He was pretty solid for a while, but his performances lately have been pretty lackluster. Could be any number of things affecting that, and he might be better in another team.

that doesn't say no for sure, it just means he doesn't expect it to happen before roster lock. That means maybe the buyout negotiations will take too long, and everyone is too busy with their family and holiday to waste time selling tarik when they know he will sell after, ALSO it could be a strategy by MIBR to NOT sell tarik until after Jan 1 to ANYONE so that he cannot be used against MIBR at the major... I don't see how this tweet says no tarik, it simply says MOST LIKELY no tarik before January 1st roster lock. It doesn't say no for sure, and it says NOTHING about after January 1st implying that a deal may be done after the roster lock date

replacing daps would be great, but isn't he IGLing or did they switch? if he is IGL that wouldn't work GREAT, I want to see daps coaching because he has a great CSGO mind but bad at shooting ppl, so I'd love that 1 but not the other. Replacing Fugly would be really bad IMO, he is like the bondik or styko of NA he doesn't have the sexy ratings but he keeps it above 1.0 and he plays GREAT support that allows other players that can only impact the game by fragging to thrive. It is no coincidence that Fugly has stuck around the scene this long even though he looks replacable to the fans on every team, pro players that need to fill roles have trouble finding people that WANT to be the roleplayer or support, and aren't just doing it to get their chance and then change roles or teams as soon as they get noticed.
