WESG 2018 World Finals schedule revealed

WESG has revealed the match schedule for the upcoming World Finals, taking place in Chongqing, China, from March 11-17.

In just over a week, the WESG 2018 World Finals will kick off, with over 30 teams from all over the world set to duke it out for the lion's share of the $890,000 prize pool. The group stage matches will be hosted at the Athestel Hotel Chongqing, while the single-elimination playoffs will take place at the Chongqing Olympic Sports Center.

The WESG World Finals 2018 are just over a week away

The event will begin with a best-of-two round-robin group stage featuring seven groups of four teams and one group of three (following Isurus' withdrawal), with the top two sides from each group advancing to the playoffs. its actually smart, because most people don't care about the 3rd place match anyways, so if the 3rd match happens before the finals it can delay the finals, having the 3rd match after the finals makes sure that the finals won't be delayed

At 07:30 a Sunday everyone is sleeping, 20k viewers incoming for the Grand Final, WESG organization 0IQ

It happened last year. One group had SK (now MiBR), Russia mix and BIG while other group had very weak teams among Chineses.

Chinese government are supporting E-sport, This tournament is the result of it. But I think they should take it more thoughtfully and seriously, instead of just put money into it. The current situation is, the good teams like Tyloo and ViCi gaming has no game to play professionally apart from those international events, no leagues no games in China, very poor CSGO community, makes it difficult for new teams to be established or for current teams to improve. very sad. I'm Chinese, Sorry for my English.
