NiP withdraw from WESG Finals

Ninjas in Pyjamas have decided against attending the upcoming WESG World Finals, the Swedish organisation have announced.

On Twitter, Ninjas in Pyjamas cited "personal reasons" for the withdrawal and apologised to WESG and the team's fans, adding that more information will be released "soon".

Ninjas in Pyjamas, who had been invited directly by WESG, are now the fifth team to pull out of the event, following the withdrawals of Isurus, MVP PK, K23 and ENCE.

Personal reasons will see NiP skip the WESG Finals

The Swedish giants were last seen at the IEM Katowice Major, reaching the playoffs before succumbing to eventual champions Astralis in the quarter-finals.

The WESG World Finals will be held from March 11-17 in Chongqing, China, with $890,000 on offer. With Ninjas in Pyjamas's withdrawal, Group A now features just three teams, G2, Revolution and Singularity.

The seedlings of the teams was Fucking disgusting. Every year they try to get the Low teams in the knockout stage when they fucking blow. It’s probably the most rigged tournament in counterstrike, not to mention it seems like half the teams can’t even fucking get into the country. China in 2019 XDXD

imo the main aim of this tournament is to explore Alibaba's publicity in as many countries as possible, but not to hold high-quality events in e-sports. Why would this make a team pull out of a tournament? If the players know that the lineup is going to be changed, then perhaps they'll play without pressure and do surprisingly well. The players who know they're being replaced may feel like they have a point to prove and perform better than they have been for months. I'm pretty sure this was a big factor in Fnatic doing so well this time last year when they won Katowice and WESG. They already decided they were going to replace Golden and showed up at the events with no pressure.
