DETONA to ESL Pro League S9 Americas over Sharks
In the grand final of the ESL Pro League S9 LatAm South Closed Qualifier, DETONA defeated Sharks 3-1 (1-0, 12-16, Train, 16-11 Mirage, 16-10 Inferno) to qualify for ESL Pro League S9 Americas.
The ESL Pro League Season 9 LatAM South Closed qualifier featured four teams, DETONA, Sharks, paiN and All Knights. DETONA and Sharks met in the intial game of the BO3 double-elimination bracket, where DETONA was victorious 2-1, before going on to meet again the BO5 grand final, where DETONA had a 1-0 start.

The series started on Train, where Sharks were down 12-5 after struggling to gain momentum on the T side and losing the CT pistol. However, when they got rifles in their hands, they were perfect, stringing together 11 rounds straight to win the map 16-12, Renato "nak" Nakano leading the way with 28 frags.
Moving onto Mirage, Sharks had a solid first half, 9-6 as CT, but only mustered two sporadic rounds on the offensive side, allowing DETONA to take the map 16-11. The action then moved to Inferno, where we saw a balanced CT-T side in the first half as DETONA finished the defensive side with a minimal, 8-7 lead. However, after the switch, they put pressure on Sharks, and with Vinicius "vsm" Moreira having an inspired performance, closed out the map, 16-10, and took the series.
