fnatic have announced that they have decided to withdraw from EPICENTER, with a replacement still to be confirmed.

The Swedish giants had received one of the five direct invites to the tournament, but have opted out so that the players can get "an extended break" and enter 2020 "with a renewed sense of purpose, ready to settle for nothing less than reaching their boundless potential."

This means that fnatic will end 2019 at the ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals, in Odense, in early December. The DreamHack Masters Malmö champions, who are currently ranked third in the world, are also scheduled to play the ECS Season 8 Finals, kicking off this Thursday in Arlington.

fnatic will skip EPICENTER to recharge their batteries for 2020

EPICENTER 2019 will be held from December 17-22 at the Crocus Expo Hall, in Moscow. The tournament will have $500,000 on the line and eight teams, five invited and three determined by qualifiers.

Rpk is not a problem. He plays his spots great and usually delivers, they just arent high fragging spots. Apex and Shox are the ones that are in playmaking positions more often and they drop the ball, especially in advantageous situations where they should multi frag or at least make the round very difficult for the other team. Rpk is a static player, he holds angles/spots and soliders in during executes. Hes not the best support in the world but definitely serviceable and as impactful as many others around the same rank. Apex and Shox usually have more info and are trading/lurking or making aggressive plays. They do not match up to the brollans/magisks/NAFs of the world, they're a clear step behind.

2 main reasons: Boombla is tier 3 IGL, and guardian is tier 3 AWPer. He hasn't been even decent since early 2018. They have no structure and boombla and guardian are basicly free kills every round. Liquid had some of the best timings/contact plays/map control/flashes during that spree of tournaments and had been a tactically elite team for over a year. That's why they were dubbed Mini/NA Astralis, because of their approach to the game. I get how phenomenal the fragging is but that doesnt happen without great coordination, trading, and nade usage. Liquid was playing the meta absolutely amazingly and theres not much more that can be said. Sometimes fundamentals and good shots can be a tournament winning formula, it's all about making your players comfortable so that they can achieve consistency and that's exactly what Liquid did when they switched the roles around for stewie.

They get paid asinine salaries to play a video game for a living. If you're under the impression they sit in a dark room all day and run strats for 10-12 hrs and practice refining their aim, you're very wrong. There's minimal accountability by orgs to push their teams to perform at a top level. As long as the orgs are making money of advertisement revenue (which literally accounts for 99% of their funding - not prize money), then they (and the team) could care little for actually winning anything. Both are making bank. The fans, however, want success. The teams often fail to deliver that success due to their own inaction of applying themselves to the "boring side" of professional gaming. IE, running demos, conjuring innovative strategies and trying different tactics, scouting for new talent, etc. coldzera came out of nowhere, practiced 10-12 hrs a day and made HLTV Top 1 for 2 consecutive years, in addition to winning 2 majors. THAT's dedication that permits a break. Most these kids mess around in FPL instead of investing that time out of the limelight by practicing. That's the problem with progaming. The top players SELDOM stream. They're busy focusing on their craft. Don't sit here and say they need a break, lmao. Their break is FPL while people sub and give them donations.

Theres actually a lot if interviews out there with IGLs about how they run their teams. Most do 2ish hours of theory 1-2 hours of dry runs/new nades - a break - and then 3-5 scrims a day. At least the tier 1 IGLs because that's what it takes and yeah as you said that doesnt even account for DMing and FPL. I'm not even sure what your point is. I called you out for underrating Fnatic and you went on a rant about kids that mess around in FPL and how much money they make. Like what?
