Liquid overcome mousesports; to play Astralis for semi-final spot

With a 2-1 victory over MOUZ in the upper-bracket semi-final of group B, Liquid have secured themselves a place in the ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals playoffs.

Despite travel woes which saw Liquid arrive in Odense just a couple of hours before their first game of the tournament, the North Americans managed to earn a playoff spot with victories over North and MOUZ. Tomorrow, Liquid will be playing Astralis in the group B upper-bracket final, with a semi-final spot on the line.

On the other hand, MOUZ are relegated to the lower bracket of group B, where they will have to outplace Renegades, G2, and ATK if they wish to reach the playoffs.

Liquid will once again face Astralis, with playoff spots already secured for both sides

Following a close pistol round that went Liquid's way, the North American side grabbed a hold of the game on the CT side of Nuke, MOUZ map pick. Nick "nitr0" Cannella and co. looked untouchable as they claimed an 8-0 lead before Robin "ropz" Kool broke the deadlock with a triple. However, MOUZ struggled to do much after that, ending the half with merely three rounds.

After half-time MOUZ secured the CT pistol, but no momentum or economy was built as 1v2 clutches from Keith "NAF" Markovic and Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken swung things back in Liquid's favor, allowing them to close out the map 16-5.

ropz's inspired performance wasn't enough for a mouz victory

After MOUZ' pick of Nuke backfired, the action moved to Vertigo, where the European side started on the defense. With a force-buy victory, Finn "karrigan" Andersen and co. grabbed a 3-1 lead, but the tables turned when full buys came in as NAF spearheaded Liquid's six-round streak (7-3).

With three defuses in a row, the European side salvaged the half, finishing just one round behind, quickly grabbing a lead after initial success on the offense (11-8). Liquid fought back, but ultimately couldn't stop the offenses of ropz and David "frozen" Čerňanský, who helped MOUZ stay in the series with a 16-12 victory on Vertigo.

Dust2 was left to decide the victor, where Liquid was the more convincing side in the first half. The North Americans lost the pistol but still ran up a strong lead on the CT side, 10-5, with ropz's pistol heroics after the switch keeping MOUZ in the game. Big individual rounds from Özgür "woxic" Eker, Chris "chrisJ" de Jong, nitr0 and frozen then followed, with MOUZ holding on to momentum throughout. The score was 13-13 when Liquid won a pistol-armor buy which helped them finally close out the map 16-14 and claim the series 2-1.

Atleast they made it to the play offs and are fighting safely for a semi final spot. Liquid will never give up and that's why they're still in the upper bracket right now and didnt't even lose to North right after they landed. Liquid vs Astralis is just 50% luck because they're both #1 and #2

How's it undeserve if Mouz has 2 players who literally went -14 and -23 meanwhile liquid only had 2 players go -1. I mean if anything chrisj or karrigan gotta go and just have one designate IGL meanwhile adding a player who can actually frag Netherlands Chris 'chrisJ' de Jong 41 - 55 -14 60.6 0.82 Denmark Finn 'karrigan' Andersen 39 - 62 -23 63.8 0.80
