DreamHack Open Leipzig match-ups and schedule announced
DreamHack have revealed the opening match-ups and full schedule for DreamHack Open Leipzig.
The action in Leipzig will kick off on Friday, January 24, where the recently-signed Virtus.pro roster will take on BIG in the first of six best-of-one matches. Later, DreamHack Open Sevilla victors. North. will butt heads with Sprout, followed shortly by a North American face-off in Cloud9 versus Renegades.
Rounding out opening matches is a Danish derby between HEROIC and MAD Lions, who recently impressed at the IEM Katowice European open qualifier, securing one of two closed qualifier slots on offer. Concluding day one will be the winners' matches of both groups, deciding two semi-finalists of the tournament.

The $100,000 tournament will take place at the Leipziger Messe over the weekend of January 24-26, featuring the traditional DreamHack Open format, kicking off with a GSL group stage, followed by single-elimination, best-of-three playoffs. The team to hoist the trophy in the grand final not only stands to secure $50,000 in prize money but also direct invitation to DreamHack Masters Jönköping, taking place in June.
