Chaos release smooya

Chaos have announced the departure of Owen "⁠smooya⁠" Butterfield due to circumstances connected to the on-going coronavirus pandemic.

The British AWPer was benched earlier in the month, as he had to travel to the UK to deal with issues related to his ESTA. Upon arriving home, the player had his interview with the US embassy canceled, postponed to an unspecified date. It has now emerged that the postponement is indefinite due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, which saw all non-essential services shut down amid a country-wide lockdown.

smooya is no longer part of Chaos

The British AWPer joined Chaos in early January, filling in the void left by Gage "⁠Infinite⁠" Green, who was benched in a mutual decision made by the team. Since joining, he played a crucial part in the team's successful qualification for Flashpoint 1, while maintaining an above-average rating at the majority of events that the team had participated in.

To maintain a functional roster, Chaos will continue to employ the services of Logan "⁠Voltage⁠" Long, who stepped in to fill for smooya shortly after his benching.

With the departure of smooya, Chaos are:
