Apeks bench Radifaction; Polly to stand in

Apeks have announced that Haakon "⁠Radifaction⁠" Tholo has been moved to a backup position, with their coach Pål "⁠Polly⁠" Kammen set to step in as the fifth player until they find a long-term replacement.

Apeks are currently ranked 87th in the world, falling 21 spots from the peak they had in March after an unsuccessful ESEA MDL Season 34 qualifying campaign. Apeks suffered losses to Prima, Endpoint, and Turkey5 within the last month, with the unsatisfactory results causing the player change, the organization stated.

Apeks announced a player change ahead of the Elisa Invitational

The CEO of Apeks, Denise Anfinnsen, said that better results were expected from the roster after eight months together, leading to the benching of Radifaction who is still contracted to the organization. Apeks are "not making any rash decisions", Anfinnsen explains, as they are looking to see who "the best fit" for the team is.

In terms of expectations, the organization mentioned that it will be essential for the new player to move to Oslo, Norway, as Apeks steps up preparation for the Elisa Invitational which kicks off on April 30.

Meanwhile, Apeks will be using Norwegian veteran and their current coach Polly as a stand-in, who had the following to say about the situation:

"We have been working on this project and with this roster for 7-8 months and have not achieved the results we want. The development hasn’t been good enough, and therefore we feel it is the right time to make a player change. We are actively working to find a suitable player that can help us take the next step", says coach Polly

"As a short-term solution, I will step in and play what needs to be played while we spend time finding the perfect replacement for Radifaction".

Actually i don't like the decision. For me this squad should stick together, their results weren't perfect, but overall they were not bad. I think this team worked well together. And for me Radifaction was solid. Also taking Polly back is terrible idea. His retirement was a good decision. Very bad changes by Apeks.
