MIBR set sights on trk

MIBR have expressed an interest in signing TeamOne star Alencar "⁠trk⁠" Rossato, HLTV.org and Globo Esporte have learned.

The Brazilian player has been earmarked as a potential replacement for Ignacio "⁠meyern⁠" Meyer, whose time in MIBR's starting lineup appears to be coming to an end just six months into his tenure with the team.

meyern has endured a frustrating time with MIBR, struggling to replicate the form that saw him impress so highly while playing for Sharks. He has averaged a 0.97 rating since joining the team, with criticism mounting after the runner-up finish in Flashpoint 1, in which Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo's troops let a 12-1 lead slip on the last map of the final.

trk, 24, burst onto the global scene in 2018 after he helped TeamOne to a surprising semi-final run at the WESG Finals, where they beat ELEAGUE Major Boston champions Cloud9 in the first round of the playoffs.

He and teammate Pedro "⁠Maluk3⁠" Campos attracted interest from Immortals at the end of the year, but a move failed to materialise as the North American organisation, which now owns MIBR, baulked at TeamOne's asking price.

MIBR's decision to replace a player will come at the cost of 20 percent of the 950 RMR Points that the team amassed by placing 7th-8th in ESL One: Road to Rio. The Brazilians had already lost 40 percent of the 300 points that they had won at the StarLadder Major after keeping just three-fifths of the roster that competed in Berlin - Wilton "⁠zews⁠" Prado acted as a stand-in at the event, while Lucas "⁠LUCAS1⁠" Teles was released by the organisation before the end of the year.

According to Globo Esporte, TeamOne have already begun their search for a replacement for trk, who missed Tuesday's ESEA MDL match with Under 21, allegedly due to Steam Guard issues.
