cs_summit 6 to host Summer RMR tournament in Europe and North America*

Beyond the Summit and its sixth edition of cs_summit will play host to the second Regional Major Ranking (RMR) tournament in Europe and North America, the organizers have announced.

*Update: Valve has announced that there will be no summer RMR event in South America and Oceania, leaving just the CIS and Asian tournaments to be revealed at a later date.

The second RMR event, which will offer the second-most points (25% more than ESL One: Road to Rio) in the run to the only Major of 2020, ESL One Rio, will feature a combined $200,000 prizepool across the two regions and take place online on June 22-July 5.

That puts cs_summit 6 immediately after BLAST Premier Spring Europe Finals (June 15-21) in the calendar and just before the summer player break, which was recently moved a week forward, to July 6-August 6.

The tournament is the first in CS:GO that Beyond the Summit will host online after all previous editions were held inside the company's studio, in Los Angeles, California. It will also be the organizers' first involvement with Valve and their biggest venture yet after they hosted a maximum of eight teams in the past.

Current Regional Major Ranking standings after the conclusion of Road to Rio are expected to be one of the primary factors in determining participants in the summer series. The standings look as follows in Europe and North America:

Europe RMR standings
1. Denmark Astralis - 2,400 points
2. France G2 - 1,680 points
3. France Vitality - 1,660 points
4. Europe FaZe - 1,580 points
5. Finland ENCE - 1,280 points
6. Sweden Ninjas in Pyjamas - 1,200 points
7. France Heretics - 1,100 points
8. Europe GODSENT - 1,000 points
9. Denmark North - 900 points
10. Denmark Copenhagen Flames - 700 points
11. Europe MOUZ - 650 points
12. Spain Movistar Riders - 600 points
13. Sweden fnatic - 500 points
14. Europe Complexity - 350 points
15. Europe c0ntact - 330 points
16. Sweden Dignitas - 150 points

North America RMR standings
1. United States Liquid - 1,900 points
2. Australia 100 Thieves - 1,700 points
3. United States Gen.G - 1,600 points
4. United States Evil Geniuses 1,550 points
5. Brazil FURIA - 1,500 points
6. United States Cloud9 - 1,400 points
7. North America Envy - 1,200 points
8. Brazil MIBR - 1,130 points
9-10. United States Triumph - 750 points
9-10. United States Bad News Bears - 750 points (disbanded)
11. Brazil Yeah - 600 points

The news suggests that more than one tournament organizer will be behind the second RMR series, unlike ESL One: Road to Rio, which was hosted solely by ESL across all six regions.

I think it's not that he got kicked but that Faze or another team bought him (probly have read too many HLTV posts) The move is bad Twist should be kicked but Hampus is a better IGL than Lekr0 i think

i think that no one shouldve gotten kicked. i remember that niko was 1hp and he manager to win an 1v1 on series point mirage for NiP. had he not hit that 1tap NiP could have been in the finals or Close to that

...to consider an event for Major ranking, it must invite the top RMR teams in the region and hold qualifiers for the remainder. Top 8 probably. (For Europe)

Astralis will lose a lot of RMR points because of the stupid rules about roster changes. It's not fair with so harsh punishment for the change of 1 single player for 1 event - teams are punished both for having one player out of play and for them re-entering play. Valve - change your rules now, pls - this isn't fair for anyone

I hope they will be able to buy es3tag out of his few days of contract with Heroic, so he can play in cs_summit. And my concern wasn't just for Astralis. One player with bad stomach one day and coach taking over for just 1 game - then punishment will be too harsh. And it puts too much pressure on sick players who will be forced to play so their team won't lose points and miss the major.

It would make sense not to punish if you use coach as 5th but if you are paying an extra player, which some orgs might now be able to afford it puts the rich orgs at an advantage

Totally agree - there must be a transition period (for rosters with 5+ players), but as it is right now is unfair and #81
