Lekr0 joins Dignitas

The Swedish player will make his first appearance for the team later on Sunday in the Pinnacle Cup.

Jonas "⁠Lekr0⁠" Olofsson has completed a move to Dignitas, the North American organisation announced on Sunday. The former fnatic and NIP player will step into the shoes of Haris "⁠H4RR3⁠" Hadzic, who has been removed from the starting lineup just five months after his signing from Nordavind.

The 27-year-old returns to action after some time on the sidelines following North's decision to leave esports due to financial reasons. He joined the Danish organisation from NIP in August 2020, making his final appearance for the team in DreamHack Masters Winter, before the end of the year.

Lekr0 reunites with f0rest in Dignitas

In Dignitas, Lekr0 will once again link up with Patrik "⁠f0rest⁠" Lindberg, his NIP teammate for 18 months. Their time together came to an end in January 2020, when f0rest left the Ninjas after almost eight years and signed for Dignitas.

Despite having in-game leader experience, Lekr0 will not take over shot-calling duties from Adam "⁠friberg⁠" Friberg, according to team coach Halvor "⁠vENdetta⁠" Gulestøl, who told HLTV.org that the new player will get to take more of his old roles from fnatic and early NIP.

With this new signing, Dignitas hope to rebound from a poor start to the season. The Swedish team went out of the Vulkan Fight Series in the first round of the playoffs and finished 9th-10th in cs_summit 7 and 13th-15th in Snow Sweet Snow 1.

Lekr0 will make his debut for Dignitas at 19:00 against the red-hot HAVU, who are on an eight-match winning streak, in the first Swiss round of the Pinnacle Cup, a $100,000 competition.

With this change, the Swedish team now have:

Adding flusha is a risk, though. Yes it would be an upgrade but at what cost? Friberg also brings morale and a comfortability to Dig and as IGL, that is even more important.

Friberg was the IGL of DIG, now with lekr0 joining, who knows who will take up the IGL role. Personally, I hope it is still Friberg, as DIG need lekr0 fragging at his best alongside Heap, f0rest and Hallzerk. If Friberg transitions into a fragger, this could overall weaken the fragging department as lekr0 I would say is overall more skilled in the fragging department.

C'mon, DIG never worked with friberg, the team wasn't even a good T2, their game system is not working. That, together with his inability to frag getting worse and worse, is what's really hurting DIG. Lekro is a more safe bet for an IGL and then they won't need friberg to not IGL and not frag.

Heap is good, if they remove anybody from Dignitas, it'll be Friberg and lekr0 would be IGL unless they bring one in like Flusha. Adding Olofmeister or flusha would be a good move for Dignitas if they do it properly.

Perhaps to be a fringe top 20/25 team, but if they want to break into top 20 and challenge at Flashpoint, which they've put a lot of money into, you probably can't do it with Friberg on the team. Like he's obv a leagend, but he doesn't seem to be anything special as a caller, and is fragging very badly since he took the role. Lekr0 has shown that he can handle the IGL role and maintain a fairly decent level of fragging. Lekr0 calling + young agressive player seems like a better duo than Friberg calling + Lekr0 star player imo.

I dont have to read your entire comment to tell you that there has been tons of tons of tons of top teams.. Several nr1s that have had a lower fragging igl with good tactics and that has been good enough to keep them at the top. So why is it impossible here?? The answer is, its not. Give this new team a chance eh?

Those IGLs were experienced and top tier Friberg's only attempt at IGLing before Dig to my knowledge was a week long stint he had calling with Heroic before he stopped and BlameF took over. Dig haven’t done anything tactically incredible from what I’ve seen with Friberg as IGL. I’ll believe he’s the type of IGL to take Dig to the top 15 when I see it.

Listen to what you are saying.. While I say this.. Pronax..zeus..golden..daps..nitro..xizt.. But friberg cannot? Fribergs "attempt at calling" was in optic. As for heroic they had es3tag then blamef as callers. I dont know what games you are watching but im watching them all and I'll tell you that dig looks great tactically. Fribergs calling is dynamic, we se so many different rounds beign played of his calls. While if you compared to xizt is was alot of the same rounds again and again. We can se when we watch them that friberg makes calls based on his gut feeling, wich is great because they're not easily predictable. And the best part about it ofc is that his team always follow up on his calls, good or bad they do it and thats so important. That is a great sign for whats to come. So stop going into their games with your negativity because it for sure makes you blind to what they are doing well and why.

When hltv put more to follow they just write more about HARR3's time in DIG and the results they had with him. It's not any more breaking news normally.

I do indeed, it is mad how we kind of predicted how this would turn out ahead of time... xD Olofmeister and flusha are pretty much the only two players left that would make sense to pick up for Dignitas. H4RR3 brought great energy to Dig, so with the removal, I expect to see a lack of improvement at first until lekr0 has settled in. It also might impede Heap's performance a bit until there is a comfortability factor back in place.

Well, we kinda said if because it would have made perfect sense. Nip cut lekro for an unknown reason (I suspect it was because threat thought he was to old for this new lineup he made, where he could "mold" the young players, as he has even put it himself.) Wich kinda put lekro on the market being undervalued. While dig was looking for 2 new swe/nor players, 1 of wich was a entry fragger.. Yeah but olof and flusha could defenitely to their own thing though. Pick up 3 good scandinavian players and just go. I really do not want any more changes to dig, I want to se this play out for sure.

That's sad, I think Lekr0 can play and show the same results as H4RR3, but it looked like Dignitas had fun with H4RR3. Don't think you can replace his energy with any EU player.
