Brollan signs new fnatic contract until 2024

The Swedish youngster has committed his future to the team for three more years.

fnatic have announced that star player Ludvig "⁠Brollan⁠" Brolin has signed a new three-year deal, keeping him in the organisation until 2024. The 18-year-old has been an integral part of the Swedish team since his signing from Red Reserve in 2018, making the HLTV Top 20 in 2019 (No.19) and 2020 (No.15).

Brollan burst onto the scene in 2017 when he appeared in the first edition of the 'GAMERZ' esports reality show. He made his first international appearance in November of that year as he filled in for Freddy "⁠KRIMZ⁠" Johansson in the WESG EU & CIS Regional Finals, helping fnatic to qualify for the World Finals.

Brollan has been with fnatic since 2018

Before the end of the year, he joined GODSENT, whom he represented for six months before the squad was acquired by Red Reserve. But four months later, he was snatched by fnatic as a replacement for Robin "⁠flusha⁠" Rönnquist.

Brollan has helped fnatic to LAN titles at PLG Grand Slam 2018 and DreamHack Masters Malmö 2019. Last year, he won his first MVP medal in the team's title-winning campaign in ESL Pro League Season 11, which was played online.

The announcement of Brollan's renewal will be warmly welcomed by fans following the team's disappointing start to 2021. fnatic, who brought in rookie Jack "⁠Jackinho⁠" Ström Mattsson jn January, finished runners-up to Virtus.pro in cs_summit 7 but then went out of the IEM Katowice Play-In after just two matches. The Swedes will return to action next week in Group D of ESL Pro League Season 13, which also includes Liquid, Endpoint, Evil Geniuses, Virtus.pro and Astralis.

if his performace gets worse, he will be benched = much less money. if he wants to leave, his future org will have to pay a massive buy out. if his performance gets better and a org wants him for 10x the salary, he cannot leave that easy. dude long contracts are never good for the player only for the org. you should know that. long contracts are only nice if you stay on the active roster, play good (enough) for the entire time of your contract and if you dont wanna join a different team. guess what, reality is never that simple.

fnatic is a dangerous org? and honestly, do you think someone signs a 3 year contract where you could just sign a 1 year, 3 times and get exactly the same? Ofcourse its a better contract. And being the best player IN fnatic ofcourse the org wants to keep him. And to keep him, and keep him happy so he doesnt bench himself, the contract should be good.

Brother, Fnatic is not a good org when they are suffering from constantly latching on to old players that should have been passed on long ago Also sure he get's more money, but he doesn't need more of that. He needs to use his talent so he can become something more then just a good player with no trophies. 1-2 years after he has retired he will be forgotten. They won 1 big event after about 3 years of nothing and then follow it up by 2-3 mediocre performances and that was enough. But what does that bring them. No major, No Dynasty and certainly no era A Roster change? They have had plenty of those, but they always pick the same type of players "Cause it used to work right?". Honestly fnatic are not even close to a top 10 team and someone who easily could play on a top 5 team signed for 3 years.

maybe. but my experience is that often long term contracts leave the player in a bad spot as soon as his performance drops. I think especially young players fall for the money trap as they do not think about long term consequences. dont get me wrong, I wish him all the best and I hope that I am wrong with my assumption/prediction

I would agree that long term contracts are bad for players. People forget how dynamic any gaming scene is. Look back 3 years ago and see the teams rosters. You'll see less than 25% of those players today. If the contract doesnt guarantee you exact same cash in case of being benched or dropped than whats the point? I would bet fnatic would not arguee if Brollan signed like 2 year contract just to be more flexible and secured in the future. Pro gaming is still at it's to nfancy in comparison to sports. Big gamble imo.

They qualified to BLAST Premier Spring Finals. fnatic's top2 on summit is literally the only good result they showed this year. After that - only horrible showing (eliminated from IEM Katowice play-in by MIBR, eliminated in open quals for DreamHack, etc).

all groups stage? thats their limit.occational they make semi at best. fnatic reached summit with this shit roster. fnatic has players who can win events.but they have lower lows also.they can reach upto top 1 but can go outside top 20. nip is just a avergae team.they don't have much peak and much lower lows. they stay around top 7-top 20 always. if brollan join nip, he will waste his career like lekro,twist,plopski did. fnatic had worse lows than nip but reached like 6-7 big event finals in last 2 years while winning 2 big events.nip hasn't reached any final since 2017.
