DBL PONEY qualify for Flashpoint 3 over HAVU

DBL PONEY picked up the last Flashpoint 3 spot up for grabs in the qualifier in Nathan "⁠NBK-⁠" Schmitt's final match with the team.

DBL PONEY claimed the last spot given in the Flashpoint 3 closed qualifier with a victory over HAVU in the fifth-place decider match after Complexity, MOUZ, Anonymo and Sprout all already secured their presence at the Regional Major Ranking tournament taking place on May 10-30.

NBK- put an end to his time with his DBL PONEY compatriots on a high note, helping the squad qualify for the RMR tournament after playing with the "semi-mix team" for over a month after being moved to the bench by OG, the organization he is still under contract with. It is still unclear who will play as the team's fifth in his place at the RMR event.

NBK- ended his time in DBL PONEY with a crucial victory

The series started off on Dust2, DBL PONEY’s pick, and remained a close affair early on, with NBK-, Lucas "⁠Lucky⁠" Chastang and Alexandre "⁠bodyy⁠" Pianaro all chipping in to get their side in the lead on the attack, 9-6. The French squad then took control of proceedings on the CT side early on, going up 15-8 in what seemed would be an easy victory, but HAVU struck back with seven rounds in a row to force overtime.

The map wasn’t able to be resolved immediately, as the first overtime ended with the two teams splitting the difference, but DBL PONEY were finally able to bring home their pick 22-20.

Train started off looking like another close affair with HAVU on the attack and DBL PONEY playing on the CT side as the two teams remained even as can be going into the last round of the first half, which went the way of the Frenchmen. Five rounds in a row on the attacking site then put Lucky and company in very good position to take the map, as they were able to absorb HAVU’s attempts to get back in the game before closing the map and series out, 16-11, to qualify for Flashpoint 3.

Flashpoint has not yet announced who will get the final spot at the RMR event, which belonged to the former North squad before the team disbanded, and no core of three players from that team has come together since parting ways, which is the minimum required amount to retain a spot at the Valve-sanctioned event.
