The 34-year-old leaves the team two weeks before the first RMR tournament of the year in North America.

Jason "⁠moses⁠" O'Toole is no longer the head coach of Liquid, the North American organisation said on Monday. The former caster and analyst steps down from the role nine months into his tenure after a run of underwhelming results during the team's most recent stay in Europe.

moses replaced Eric "⁠adreN⁠" Hoag as Liquid's head coach in August 2020, stepping away from his broadcast work to embrace a coaching career. His arrival came during a transitional period for the team, who had just lost in-game leader Nick "⁠nitr0⁠" Cannella and brought in Michael "⁠Grim⁠" Wince from Triumph.

moses leaves Liquid after nine months on the job

Liquid continued to blow hot and cold, though they ended the year on a high note as they finished runners-up to Astralis in the IEM Global Challenge - Russel "⁠Twistzz⁠" Van Dulken's final event with the team. Just two weeks into the new year, the North American organisation signed two-time Major winner Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo from MIBR to fill the vacant position on the roster.

With the Brazilian taking over as in-game leader in February, the team found a well-timed burst of form right before IEM Katowice, in which they managed to reach the semi-finals, but then results took a turn for the worse. Liquid crashed out of ESL Pro League 13 in 9th-12th place and were upset by Dignitas in the first round of the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown.

Liquid are yet to announce who will be coaching the team in their next tournament, the cs_summit 8 Regional Major Ranking (RMR) tournament, scheduled for May 20-30. moses has not commented on his departure from the team or his future plans.

I hope so. 2021 Semmler is plain out awful. He should have stuck to being a hype caster, as he has zero analytic skills. I used to like him, but he is not half as smart as he currently tries to impose upon people. Play your own hand Semmler, do what you are best at, hype, and shut up about tactics, your understanding is mediocre at best.

I mean he wasn't really cancelled, since it turned out to be pure hearsay, he said that he didn't have the same motivation for casting anymore, because of online so no crowds, and considering the situation with the allegations it seemed like a good time to make the move. I guess he kinda cancelled himself. Launders also had very similar Twitter allegations against him and nothing came of that so I doubt the allegations against Henry would have led to anything regardless of whether or not he kept casting. Edit: IIRC he talked about this on an episode of HLTV Confirmed if anyone is interested in what he said about the move to c9 at the time.

nope, he was already planning on making the move, because he wanted to do something new and explore new things. the bad part was that he had to step down from casting way before he wanted to do it. luckily for him the plan with cloud9 didn't fall. Now i think he said he wanted some free time out of cameras, the accusations but more important the hate towards cloud9 project was too much (i dont why people hated them to those extremes), and he probably will announce something next year if he is up to something.

I think the reason they sign him was to fix the mentality of the team because he can light up the atmosphere and be that guy you know, now that its back they part ways since they need a tactical coach. This atleast my take on it.

And for the time being, players like shazam and dapr are playing for the best NA team, so imagine how good players like Stewie and NAF could be

sad to see Jason leave, I loved his casting but more than anything else he seemed like a really good fit for the guys on the team. Of course, I have no experience within the team but he seemed to motivate the guys pretty well too. Also seems like pretty bad timing with the RMR events starting soon, but I suppose if there is and issue, better late than never. my hope is that at least, it doesn't find a job in coaching, we'll hear him casting the next major, fingers crossed.

Not really sure how I feel about this. I don't think Liquid's problems are a coaching issue. But, I don't really know the inner workings of the team, so it's hard to say. I feel like Liquid botched some big opportunities a while back for player changes, and they've been in a tough spot ever since.
