EspiranTo exits GORILLAZ

The Lithuanian has been replaced by young Turkish player Yasin "⁠xfl0ud⁠" Koç.

Rokas "⁠EspiranTo⁠" Milasauskas has revealed that he has been removed from GORILLAZ, the project led by Robin "⁠flusha⁠" Rönnquist and Miikka "⁠suNny⁠" Kemppi, after struggling to fit into the team.

The rifler's exit comes a month after the team was formalized, following the departure of trial member Buğra "⁠Calyx⁠" Arkın, whose spot has been filled by Niels Christian "⁠NaToSaphiX⁠" Sillassen. Moving forward, the team will play with 18-year-old xfl0ud, formerly of 9INE.

EspiranTo is back on the market

"I couldn't adapt to the roles I was given and playstyle we had, and underperformed heavily. I tried my best, but I guess some things are just not meant to be," EspiranTo wrote in a Twitlonger on Wednesday, describing the news as "a good kick in the ass to start grinding even more".

GORILLAZ are currently ranked No. 74 in the world, with mixed results so far. The international have managed to pick up wins over the likes of Nordavind and SJ, but have also lost to teams such as DBL PONEY, Galaxy Racer, and Young Ninjas.

The latest addition to the squad is xfl0ud, who made his debut for GORILLAZ in a 2-1 loss to LDLC. The Turkish player's long-term status in the team — who are yet to reveal the "unnamed new organization" they have signed for —, is currently unknown.

GORILLAZ are now playing with the following lineup:

Well, Gorillaz so far have pretty strange mixed results. Feels like they don't fully understand yet how this team supposed to work in the first place. And let's be honest, this is not the first time when things just don't work with flusha outside of fnatic or trying to be an IGL.

True, but at the same time we know for a fact that he can be at least ok. And if we consider level at which Gorillaz are playing rn, he can be awesome (Imperial anyone? No? Ok) So my guess is that he was utilized poorly. Which is understandable, because Gorillaz are making strange things with roles in the team.

like what teams outside of fnatic? during Godsent time he was their best player and didn't igl during 2016 fnatic with dennis they won 6 tournaments in a row and he did igl (then olof had injury) C9 with flusha and his calling actually became a promising team. it was a complete disaster before did i miss any examples of him IGLing or being outside of fnatic?

Godsent was still a disaster for the whole ex-fnatic core, they left exactly because they thought they will do better without olof and dennis with pronax instead. 2016 fnatic wasn't really about any tactics though. It was more of "go, shoot, kill them all fast and win". And maybe it's just me, but I don't think of it as good IGLing. Well, maybe if we're looking at the tournament wins then I guess, but still it was very, very straightforward CS. And I kinda forgot about how good Cloud9 actually were. Don't know why, maybe when I was watching their matches they were mostly losing or something, but I would've never guessed they were a top 10 team, so I can't talk about that since I didn't pay attention at that time. Edit: wrote krimz instead of dennis in the first part. Edit 2: oh, yeah, in my opinion Cloud9 started playing much better as a team and not a bunch of skilled players when Golden joined them, so maybe that opinion kinda clouded my judgement as well.

well fnatic with pronax wasn't about set tactics either obv pronax was a better coordinator mid-round but he also had a lot of IGL experience in the past +flusha always was a second caller during that time with pronax or at some late tournaments even took over as igl as for the Cloud9 it's hard to tell during flusha's IGLing they played A LOT slower than with golden RUSH in every interview said that flusha's style was more tactical though i don't fully agree with RUSH golden's system is just way more reactive and demands fast decisions from individuals just because it's faster it doesn't mean that it's less tactical some players had hard time adapting to golden's style when flusha just played really slow defaults with thoughtful mid round calls

The core of the finns and flusha looks good, both on paper and ingame (especially now when sergej is finding back to his old self). But Nato? Really? And xfl0und i’ve never hearing of (guess we’ll see)

Sure, but I don't understand these choices with kicking and adding players. Obviously they will be bad when they switch a player every two weeks. Worst case scenario sergej will get frustrated if this continues and he will have no motivation. They just need to get 5 players they are happy with and go from there.

You're generous, I give 1 or 2 months. They put new players to fill roles, whatever they used to play. All others roles don't make any sense : sergei as an awp, nato as a rifler/hybrid, flusha as an igl ... In comparaison to Hyena, except Aizy as an awper, other roles make kinda sense. More talent on Gorillaz thought, but with that kind of mentality, they won't go very far.

Not shady at all. Flusha and SuNny said that they wanted younger talents etc. So, adding xfl0ud seems reasonable. Also, why do people expect Flushas team to be Top 5-10 or something? He never said it would be. He said that he want younger talents in his team.

I mean if you are a "t1" player or have top tier experience, you shouldn't be happy playing at a lower level than your peak. To not have the goal to strive to be a top 10 would make the team an instant failure imo.

Good beginning for them, they should stick to the core of flusha, suNny and sergej and search other 2 players, I would love to see them trying NBK- as the supportive element, and maybe chrisJ as this aggresive style of AWPer, I think it could work out.
