The Danish veteran will undergo surgery on Wednesday after breaking his right wrist.

On Tuesday, Complexity announced that they would be using a stand-in for Kristian "⁠k0nfig⁠" Wienecke during ESL Pro League Season 14 as the Danish player was dealing with a wrist injury. k0nfig has made a series of posts on Twitter to add more details about his situation, in which he explained that he has broken and dislocated his wrist and that, after he undergoes surgery, he will need to wear a cast for up to six weeks.

This announcement puts a more concrete length on the Dane's time of absence, as k0nfig looks set to miss well over a month of competition rather than just the duration of ESL Pro League. This also has the potential to impact the BLAST Premier Fall Groups, in which Complexity are set to play, starting on September 16.

k0nfig will be out for over a month

HLTV.org reported on Tuesday that Niels Christian "⁠NaToSaphiX⁠" Sillassen will stand in for the team during EPL, with the player having already been added to Complexity's official event roster as a substitute.

Complexity will kick off their Pro League run on Saturday, August 21 against FORZE. The team will hope to remain in contention for a top-three spot in Group B and qualification for the playoffs despite their current situation, which will not only see k0nfig take a step back but also Patrick "⁠es3tag⁠" Hansen play his official debut with the squad.

Problem is , you miss 4-6 weeks improving as a team with konfig. Its kinda hard to get valuable practice when your best fragger on the team is out with a broken wrist. Its good its only one event, but col needs to get maps under their belt with the new player so they can keep improving. Damn this sucks for complexity.

Theres a big chance he might never be as good as he was before, it will probably take 6+ months for him and his aim to become crispy like it was before since its not like in 6 weeks he will just remove the cast and his hand will become normal, i think theres a chance he will change his sensitivity by alot, just like guardian did in that major final, but maybe permanently

As a guy who had my bones fractured 5 times (arm and hand - 3 times (2 times hand, 1 time arm), leg - 1 time, finger - 1 time) and i was studying music (played piano) i can assure you that its not that bad. He will probably need 3,5-4 weeks total wearing cast, then about 2 weeks of intensive therapy to fully recover and restore former placticity, so the estimate of 6 weeks is pretty precise. However there might be a case where there is also problems with ligaments - then it might be worse and could take more time. I am afraid that he will have to skip the whole EPL.
