forZe ruin Complexity's es3tag debut at EPL

The replacement squad took advantage of Complexity's time of weakness.

FORZE have kicked off their ESL Pro League Season 14 run by defeating Complexity 2-1 in a back and forth series. This technically marks the third upset of the day, after SINNERS and OG both picked up wins in their opening games, putting forZe in a good position going into day two of Group B.

The result still comes with an asterisk however, as Complexity have been forced to use a stand-in during the tournament, with Kristian "⁠k0nfig⁠" Wienecke having sustained a wrist injury that has put him out of commission for the next weeks. So on top of this event marking the debut of new team member Patrick "⁠es3tag⁠" Hansen, who replaced William "⁠RUSH⁠" Wierzba on the active lineup, Niels Christian "⁠NaToSaphiX⁠" Sillassen has returned to play in k0nfig's absence.

FORZE's pick of Mirage served as the starting point of the series, with the Russian side taking an early lead with multiple key clutches from the newest additions Aleksandr "⁠zorte⁠" Zagodyrenko and Aleksandr "⁠KENSI⁠" Gurkin. Complexity kept fighting and managed to secure six rounds by the half, and then began to mount an offensive on their Terrorist side. Despite going on a 6-2 run late in the second half, Complexity were unable to stop FORZE from finally securing the map win 16-12.

Nuke was much of the same, with FORZE putting up a strong defense during the first half of Complexity's map pick. After winning eight rounds in a row, the European mixture finally managed to rack up some additional round wins, giving them a fighting shot going into the second half. Taking advantage of this edge, COL quickly took back the lead in the game, and secured 14 rounds after dropping only one. FORZE were unable take back control of the game, with the map concluding 16-12 for the side of Complexity.

Ancient started much like the first two maps in the series, with FORZE taking a massive lead early on. The CIS side won an impressive 10 rounds in a row before finally losing one to Benjamin "⁠blameF⁠" Bremer and co. Round 11 was unable to fully turn the tides in the end though, as KENSI shut down any hopes of a comeback from Complexity and secured FORZE a 12-3 Terrorist half. Led by the AWP of zorte, FORZE kept their cool and took the final four rounds they needed to win the map 16-9.

Rush played literally the worst roles possible and was very impactful, nato is playing easier roles with less impact and still can’t even frag in easier roles

Nato took RUSHs roles on inferno and Ancient. He took ramp on Nuke which was k0nfigs role. He also hard entried just like RUSH did. I’m not saying he’s better than RUSH, but I do think it’s funny he was almost able to match RUSHs average rating. I’m just excited to get K0nfig back. I think that Es3tag was a huge upgrade to RUSH and getting K0nfig back will boost the team to even greater heights.

I'm sorry but are you calling forZe a tier 1 team? Nato played against forZe a lot during his Gorillaz/Nordavind days. So he should know how to play against them. Also that's not really how cs works. We've seen a lot of players who haven't played cs for a while, returned and played much better than before. Namely: olof, STYKO, shox, Oskar, Magisk, es3tag, k0nfig, the list goes on..

He's a great guy. Keeps the spirits up, but I agree, his performance is always mediocre.

I kinda wish poison would get replaced. Then when konfig gets back this team would be great to watch imo. They don't even have to get a T1 asper to replace him they can have es3tag play the AWP and add a supporting element maybe xyp or a player like him and we have gold

forZe is looking great tbh., that's a solid TOP 15 team for me. They really played well in this one. NaTo man I know he is just a stand-in but man he looked so bad in this match, I know he had shit spots I saw that one but cmon, he missed some really really easy shots. I'm afraid that we are not going to see anything good from Complexity until k0nfig returns. But es3tag played great in this match, he is really looking like one of the best Danish players out there atm., that's one positive atleast.
