ritchiEE steps down from GORILLAZ roster

With this latest voluntary removal, GORILLAZ have now seen five different players come and go in as many months.

GORILLAZ, current home of Jere "⁠sergej⁠" Salo, Miikka "⁠suNny⁠" Kemppi, and Robin "⁠flusha⁠" Rönnquist, suffered another setback as Richard "⁠ritchiEE⁠" Mestdagh's exit was announced today via flusha's Twitter. The ex-EC Brugge star had been with the team for just over a month, joining alongside Kevin "⁠HS⁠" Tarn in August to replace the outgoing Niels Christian "⁠NaToSaphiX⁠" Sillassen and Yasin "⁠xfl0ud⁠" Koç.

In the short time ritchiEE spent with the team they achieved little of note, their best tournament result coming at the Elisa Invitational Fall Regionals, where they achieved a 3-2 record in the Swiss best-of-three event to secure a spot at the Elisa Invitational Fall, taking place September 13-October 15.

ritchiEE spent a total of 38 days with the team

GORILLAZ did however manage to secure a shock 2-1 victory over top-20 team SINNERS in their opening game of the aforementioned Elisa Invitational Fall, suggesting the roster may have held some promise.

They had most recently participated in the third and fourth open qualifiers for IEM Fall, failing to qualify from either and finishing 9-16th and 5-8th respectively.

Standing in for GORILLAZ will be Anton "⁠supra⁠" Tšernobai, who is currently benched from the active roster of Nordavind. Their first game with supra will be on September 20 at 17:00 when they take on SKADE in their second match of Elisa Invitational Fall.

They really don't have any other options. Sergej and Sunny haven't shown anything in the past 7 months for any top org to come and pick them up for their resume and past showings. They need an AWPer. A real AWPer. Best case scenario for them is getting Nawwkk and building around that and finally having an org support them fully.

Not really because they're still playing as "GORILLAZ" instead of the orgs name. Also the "fully supportive org" has changed so many times over the past how many months this project has been alive. Chris would be okay, I'd deffo take him over one of the Estonians (just because of AWPing ability) and he would have some input in calling too, has past experience with at least one of the players. Nawwkk would be perfect though, for real, but I don't know is it that his aspirations are higher than this roster.

fucked xfloud, espiranto , ritchie, players with some potencial but its impossible to anything on this dysfuncional team.. supra is also great , and plays the worst positions where he can´t statpad easily... when he leaves this team no one will want him anyome cuz his stats will look like shit also idk why sergej just doesn´t go to HAVU instead of jemi.... havu has much more potencial.. Their IGL slowi is exacly same playstyle as aleksib... they just need sergej back to fill the roles well on everyone... like prime ence.. idk why he declines every time i agree with you , this team is a joke

He was underperforming so I guess it's a good change for GORILLAZ. HS has been underperforming aswell, overall the core of flusha, suNny, sergej is the core that I can see working, but they really struggle to find good 4th and 5th player, it's really messy for them rn. However I don't see supra fitting in ritchiEEs shoes, ritchiEE was this kind of supportive player, he had pretty bad positons and stuff, while supra in Nordavind has been the entry fragger, so it's either sergej taking a step back or they will try to make supra their support player, which I really don't like and overall I think this is just a temporary solution and they will find new 5th quickly. GL GORILLAZ.

supra was support on gambit youngsters, plus ritchiee was not a support player at all, he was a star forced to play support

I didn't watch ritchiEEE before GORILLAZ, but in GORILLAZ he was support so you are probably right that he was forced to do it, and obv. he didn't do well. I don't remember how supra played in Gambit YNG, but in Nordavind he was really aggresive.

sergej actually looks pretty solid on the AWP, but flusha and suNny have to be more consistent, they have good matches but they also have some pretty shit ones, overall I agree, only sergej seems to perform atm., and it's not like he is doing anything special, he just feels pretty comfortable on this AWP.
