1WIN crowned Malta Vibes Knockout Series 2 champions

The Russian squad went through the stage 2 gauntlet undefeated with a grand final victory over SINNERS.

1win have become the Malta Vibes Knockout Series 2 champions after defeating SINNERS 2-1 in the grand final, growing their title cabinet in size and prestige after winning the last two ESEA Cash Cups.

Vadim "⁠MSE⁠" Zimin’s men showed exceptional resilience in the three-map grand final, upsetting the Czech squad that currently sits 22nd in the world ranking, ten places above 1win, with star player Denis "⁠deko⁠" Zhukov putting in a massive performance for his squad with a 1.44 rating by the end of the series.

Both of the finalists, 1win and SINNERS, were invited to the second stage of the tournament, where the two teams took big scalps throughout the single-elimination bracket, with the Russians eliminating 00NATION and Malta Vibes Knockout Series 1 champions Entropiq, while the Czech squad took out none other than FURIA.

deko continued to impress, powering 1WIN to victory

The series started on 1win’s pick of Nuke, where deko took the point for the Russian squad, scoring multi-kills with pistols, rifles and the AWP as he and his team went on to take the lead at the half, winning nine rounds before switching sides. On the offense, SINNERS weren’t able to turn things around and it was the Russians who took their pick 16-9.

1win took the early lead on Ancient after winning two close rounds on the CT side, but after that it was SINNERS who took the initiative and broke through the defenses to a 9-6 lead. The Czech team then continued to expand the gap in the second half, with 1win only able to cover up a one-sided result with a five-round streak before being taken down 12-16.

Vertigo started out as a close affair between both teams as SINNERS went up ahead 5-4 before putting down two rounds for each round 1win were able to tally on the attack, assuring a decent economy to head into half-time with a three round lead. Up 12-8 deko won a crucial 1vs3 to keep his team charging forward, after which 1win hit match point at 15-9, but they only needed one more round to close things out and become the Malta Vibes Knockout Series 2 champions.
