The Bulgarian's departure follows in the wake of Complexity failing to qualify for PGL Major Stockholm.

Valentin "⁠poizon⁠" Vasilev is no longer a part of Complexity, the Dallas-based organization has announced, ending the 22-year-old's 21-month long tenure with the team and making him a free agent.

The move comes after Complexity failed to qualify for PGL Major Stockholm via the Regional Major Ranking leaderboard, finding themselves eliminated from IEM Fall Europe in 17-20th place and firmly out of contention for a Major spot.

The team's subsequent appearance in the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown was also lacklustre as they narrowly fought past MIBR, only to be crushed by OG in a two-map series that included a 0-16 loss on Mirage.

poizon won just one notable event under the Complexity banner

In his time under the Complexity banner, poizon averaged a 1.08 rating, being one of the names to impress in the lineup's LAN debut at BLAST Premier Spring Series 2020. However, the online era was not kind to Complexity, and they have struggled to put up notable results over the past 18 months.

The change leaves Complexity with only one member from their original 'Juggernaut' lineup, which was composed of Benjamin "⁠blameF⁠" Bremer, William "⁠RUSH⁠" Wierzba, Kristian "⁠k0nfig⁠" Wienecke, Owen "⁠oBo⁠" Schlatter and poizon.

oBo stepped down from the active lineup not long after their sole title victory at BLAST Premier Spring 2020 Europe Finals, citing no end in sight to the team's extended stay in Europe, while RUSH was placed on the bench in July to make way for Patrick "⁠es3tag⁠" Hansen and was subsequently released.

One month later, Complexity suffered another setback as k0nfig was placed on medical leave due to a freak wrist injury, with him since departing the team amid reports of an impeding move to Astralis.

Complexity are set to take part in the IEM Winter Europe closed qualifier, which is set to kick off on Monday, leaving their roster for the event in question. Following that, and with no spot secured at the Major, the Dallas-based organization will have some time to finalize a replacement for the Bulgarian.

support isnt really a role. it's just a word people use for roles that get bad stats. yes rush and es3tag are both anchor players on CT side but their roles on T side were very different. rush was a hard entry while es3tag lurked and trade-fragged i agree with the second part of your statement

I think the point of Es3tag is that he can play pretty much any role pretty well. That's what makes him valuable, he's not a star but he is an extremely good teammate that can be the glue for the rest of the team. I think this is often what people mean when they say "support player". Rush was similar in that he basically just did whatever the team needed him to.

A support player is basically the bitch of the team. Anchor is just part of the role. Support is a real role, it's even identified by Liqupedia. It also includes dropping weapons, ALWAYS buying grenades, and using them as a support tool, like setting up a popflash for another teammate. Xyp9x is a perfect example of a support player. Him or Gla1ve always dropped device and you would often see him playing with mac-10+grenades instead of ak+armor

This actually makes sense. I guess support can be part of a role but I still think the issue of differentiating setting up utility/lurking/entrying is valid. Like a support player does what you described but that’s a broader category and there’s more specificity needed. Like how xyp is traditionally a supportive lurker while gla1ve is a supportive entry (although that’s kind of been inconsistent thanks to the roster shuffles)

Esetag is versatile, but put him in support while he can hybrid, can even be the star player, it is kinda stupid. I agree with you, BlameF is not a good igl. He should be only lurker or maybe second-caller. The team is doom with him as an IGL. I just say maybe Rush was not the main problem of this team. It is the same situation, with VP. -Sanji won't help the team much.Also, Konfig (and Obo) was carried them too much. The team was lacked and is still lacking fundamental after 2 years of playing.

Fundementally the team is flawed, Pozion used to play lurking awp, and was pretty bad, and now he played a bit more offensively but still pretty poorly. They are so defensive it's insane. Lurking awp, Lurking IGL, Lurking JKS, Lurking entry. What kind of team is this??? Complexity fix: - Cold - Poizon - JKS + Dupreeh (Contract is going to run out) or Refrezh (Heroic doing poorly and bad rep) + Nicoodoz/Farlig (Danish awpers, both on smaller teams for lower pay) + Stavn, Maybe? + Danish coach...... come on Zonic.

I hope too. Heroic shoulf split up. Even if they are winning, ppl will still hate them. I feel the skill of heroic's players is insane, but keeping the main core is ridiculous, the scandal will follow them forever. Jks + Baitf + Coldzera is awful to see, I don't know what peacemaker is thinking. You cannot transform player easily. I hope Jks will find an other team. Konfig is a great player, he creates a lot of space of his team, but he is not really a player who has to sacrifice a lot. He gets the better spots (for good reasons) and the better gun. man, do not underestimate esetag. We have seen what he is capable of in astralis. He's just a good player for a structured team. In col all roles are messed up and they do not have a well-organized team. Better blame starts to rethink roles and strats asap.

I knew changes were bound to occur, but Poizon was probably the one piece I expected to stay consistent. Earlier on I wanted to see them try to switch it up with mhL, but that's obviously not gonna happen now. COL: BlameF, Es3tag, Jkaem, Amanek, Snatchie/Allu (These are just the best AWP options right now, if they can find better then go for it) Amanek is a meme as an AWP but a valuable selfless player when he's not forced to AWP. Him willing to step in to those shoes just shows you how much he's willing to do for the team to work. BlameF needs guys like him so that he can set himself up and play the good spots, not hating on Blame just being realistic. G2: NiKo, Hunter, Nexa, Jackz, Poizon Don't need to explain why both G2 and Poizon would want this. EG: Stanislaw, Brehze, oBo, Cerq, JKS (If Cerq leaves replace him with Junior) This would involve moving oBo and Stan to Entry positions, but I think it would be good. Stan needs to adapt to the entry IGL meta and this would let JKS and Brehze be the closers. Michu moves back to Poland, finds an international team, or goes to Valo. I think he's still a talented guy but EG just isn't it.

Just my personal opinion, looks like Snatchie is already gone anyways. I never was a big fan of Nawwk personally. He's a solid player but he was super inconsistent on NIP. I wouldn't mind seeing him have another shot but it always felt like he either showed up or was trash. You cant afford to have an inconsistent AWPer

The takeway from this : BlameF and nexa who were pegged as '' fragging IGLers '' a year and a half / two years ago are certainly more '' fraggers '' and that's it. Their IGLing prowess isn't exactly astounding, especially for blame, who managed the performance to do close to nothing ( apart from farming stats for himself ) with an awesome lineup if players. Also goes on to show how skewed HLTV's rankings are when that baiter's farming has him #6 in front of players like ropz EliGE or dupreeh, just on stats, without looking at what his playing actually costs his team. He's like a coldzera 2.0 but with worst bad sides and lesser good ones...

Hell no. Poizon is great, but lets not have 12 AWPers in the team. + REDSTAR is pretty good and fits way better in the lineup and Fiend have pretty decent results with the current 5, no reason for a roster change at all.

REDSTAR is second awp and poizon has played with this core in Windigo, even won WESG finals with them. Not sure if you followed this Bulgarian team for a while, but I have since 2015 and all they do is win a tournament or two, peak in rankings to 15-20 spot, then get on a losing streak and disband only to get together some months later. If they want to break this cycle they need fresh blood into the system from time to time and poizon fits right in. REDSTAR isn't that good at all

Yes I remember Windigo, I remember Gplay/Efrag too. Two things tho. 1 you said it yourself REDSTAR is the second AWP not the primary one - H4rn. H4rn and Poizon should not be in the same team. Second you said it yourself that to break the cycle they need FRESH blood and yet you want to get poizon who they have already played with for a year and remove the relatively new guy REDSTAR.
