NAVI dominate Gambit to earn PGL Major Stockholm grand final berth

Gambit's youngsters are sent home after an uncharacteristically quiet day at the office.

Natus Vincere have earned their rightful spot in the grand final of the Major after a statement 2-0 sweep of Gambit. It will be the organization's fourth Major final appearance in CS:GO and the third for their Ukrainian superstar Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev, one where they will have the opportunity to make history as they are currently in position to take the Major title without dropping a single map en route. The CIS squad is set to face G2 on Sunday at 19:00 , where s1mple and Nikola "NiKo" Kovač will both be gunning for their first Major crowns as they enter the match in peak form.

It was not a close contest in the semi-final as Natus Vincere did not take their foot off the gas for a single moment throughout the series, making every CT side an impenetrable fortress and walking into every bombsite with ease on the offense. s1mple was of course at the center of attention with 50 frags across the two maps, ending the series with a 1.87 rating and posting his best individual map performance at a Major to date, ending Mirage at the top of the board with a 2.26 rating.

s1mple had an incredible showing in the series as NAVI trounced Gambit

The long-awaited offline CIS derby got started on Overpass with Gambit unable to make an impact on the offensive half against Natus Vincere despite winning the opening pistol. Vladislav "nafany" Gorshkov's squad only registered five rounds on the T side as they were constantly denied entry on the A bombsite by Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov.

A 1v3 clutch in the second pistol from Abay "HObbit" Khassenov was just the consolation prize as Natus Vincere wasted no time in stopping Gambit's nine-game winning streak on Overpass, closing the map 16-8. s1mple and Denis "electroNic" Sharipov ruined the youngsters' CT side as they both played to their usual standards of excellence.

There was no stopping for Natus Vincere as they entered Mirage with the same level of determination. Starting on the CT side, they had no issues in preventing Gambit from taking either bombsite, speedrunning their way to a 12-3 half that saw very little positives for nafany's boys. Meanwhile, Russian IGL Boombl4 relished in the occasion with some moments of magic throughout the half.

Gambit fared no better after switching sides as Natus Vincere took the second pistol round before quickly punching their ticket to the grand final, closing Mirage 16-3 and the series 2-0.

Expected win from NAVI and CIS team is in the grand final! Congratz Gambit with the bronze medals and a top 3-4 finish at the major as it would've been a little too much if they managed to win over NAVI in their first real appearance in front of crowd, so its still a good result for Gambit on LAN for the team that barely played it. gg bb

Navi have gotten the better of gambit in the second half of the year after finally integrating b1t into their lineup fully. After adding b1t they have won 6 out of the last nine tournaments they have been in. While gambit has gone out early in most of them.

I think he means that they have a stronger form right now, compared to a few weeks ago when they lost against freaking Mad Lions. Seems like Niko finally woke up in G2 too, he's had 1.4+ ratings in all games except against Faze at this tournament. Na'vi still is a better team rn tho, I don't see them losing in any way.

It would be retarded to roast someone who changed for the better, but not for morons like you to understand i guess.

Shit, not shit, its not the point here, those words here just to ilustrate the situation. Point is that if blades strats improved its logical that people no longer shit talks his strats. And yet we have an idiot here who doesnt understand that. I guess he is typical hater who thinks if you shittalked someone 5 months ago, you must be a hater and shittalk him for the rest of your life, doesnt matter that he improved. Edit: actually i see minimum two idiots like this

Of course the amount of MVP's for the star awp'er, the astounding win-streaks on Nuke and Inferno ... but more important than anything: FOUR Majors. You were sayin'?

What dont you understand when i say "peak" ? Shall I explain again ? You can have the highest peak ever without winning a single trophy. Right now, the level displayed by navi is out of this world. I never saw so much dominance vs #3 in semis final of a major I love astralis and there is a lot to go to match this team as the goat team, but dont be a fangirl dude. To sum up my mind : by standard definition, Astralis is, unmatchable goat team, and for a while. But to be fair if we only talk "peak level", I think this Navi's team may be the best we ever witnessed in csgo. Just my opinion

Do you remember S1mple's run to finals in faceit major or His choke and bad stats in the finals? Do you remember Immortals road to the finals or the much more Iconic gambit story? Do you remember Vp's Last chance at glory? I would assume you don't, It's Not disrespect to the Players or teams, But History is written By Winners mate,

Exactly my point. This whole discussion came from calling NaVi the "goat". S1mple is the greatest of all time yes, NaVi is the greatest of OUR time, but ... fill in the rest. (Hint: THE most winning team of all ... as you mentioned.)

People will remember heroic for proving everyone wrong on Lan and showing that they are not onliners. But gambit??? Everyone saw how they crumbled on lan in front of crowd. They barely won against furia. This is not the gambit we saw few months ago. Props to heroic for that inferno game. They are better LAN team than gambit.

GGWP All the best to both the teams for their endeavours. In their 1st real LAN, which also happens to be the 1st major in 2 years, Gambit are Major semi-Finalists. That's definitely an achievement for these 18-20 year old players. Nothing to be ashamed of. Good luck!

What a shitshow. You could barely hear the game and casters as production decided to drown you in the noises of a drunk crowd. I presume the same will continue in the finals, so I will only watch highlights. Gambit looked weak and undecided as hell. Why did they start both maps on the T side for Christ's sake? WTF is going on?

its all about gamble, if gambit manage to get ahead on their T at overpass then they are destined to win since overpass is a CT sided but their gamble backfired.

No matter who would win the Major today tbh they both have the qualities as players of Major winners from a very long time even if none of them had officially won any yet, individually speaking Niko and s1mple are much more better than quite some players who already won Majors I can guarantee that at the end of the day it's all about the team because individually speaking I'd give s1mple 10 Majors and Niko as well and not only these two god players there are plenty of skilled players who haven't had the chance to win a Major yet mainly because of the team they play with.

True although I love Niko man you can't not love that man he's a beast and he's humble, I'd say if fairness was to happen today s1mple would be the Major winner and I'm not saying that because I'm a NAVI fan which I'm not, but I'd love to see them winners today with all the respect I have for god Niko and G2 players in general since I'm a true fan of CS in general NAVI deserves it more I' being honest and real that's all and I'm quite sure most of people think the same especially those who had seen what NAVI did during this tournament, it's sick performance not even Astralis during their prime showed the same performance as NAVI are doing right now.

Astralis era ended, now its Navi era as we can see I dont like navi, especially s1mple, whos rude sometimes, but they are really strong as a team. And perfecto performance when he was on top of scoreboard instead if s1mple was sick... When ur 'worst' player is on top, while your star is at middle and still u win-there is nothing that can stop you
