Dignitas and vENdetta part ways

The Norwegian head coach is no longer in charge of Dignitas as he enters the free agent pool.

Halvor "⁠vENdetta⁠" Gulestøl's near two-year tenure in Dignitas has come to an end as he and the Swedish squad are going separate ways ahead of the new year.

The 32-year-old's tenure in Dignitas started in February 2020 when he joined the team, then under the orders of Robin "⁠Fifflaren⁠" Johansson, as the squad's analyst, leaving behind his work as broadcast talent.

vENdetta's run as Dignitas' head coach has come to an end

The Norwegian was then called up to coach the squad in September of that same year when Fifflaren took a managerial role in Dignitas, at the same time as Adam "⁠friberg⁠" Friberg assumed in-game leadership following the benchings of Christopher "⁠GeT_RiGhT⁠" Alesund and Richard "⁠Xizt⁠" Landström.

Dignitas suffered a big dip in the rankings when making the aforementioned roster moves, falling to 148th place, but they bounced back to breach top 30 in early 2021, making appearances at events such as cs_summit 7 and BLAST Spring Showdown.

After a small slump halfway through the year, vENdetta's last tournaments with the team bumped them back into the top 30, including a bid to try and make the PGL Major by qualifying for IEM Fall, but the Swedes fell short on home soil going out in 13-16th place.

Unable to reach their goals, the team and coach have now put an end to their partnership, leaving the former player and broadcast analyst turned head coach a free agent while Dignitas explore their options to find a new skipper for 2022.

#19 Because Dignitas struggle with 2 things: 1. IGL role 2. T/CT side on some maps. Dignitas T-side on D2 is horrible. These are the biggest issues for Dignitas imo. IF the rumour people are talking about in here is true then it would be a decent upgrade. The rumour is: -Friberg +Grux -> Friberg coach But yeah, lets wait and see if that is true or not.

also u forgot that dignitas always lose from 13-7 14-8 scores always. remember vs EG games on de_train from 13-6? (5 vs 3/4 vs2 1 vs 3/ back to back lose in OT lose) and its not only 1 game. they are always CHOKE.

Yes, exactly. They have a very hard time to close out a map and often struggle on T/CT-side on X map. "they are always CHOKE." England is not your city. Anyways, no, they dont "always choke", but, it happens, and its unacceptable. Hopefully those issues can be fixed with a new IGL and coach.

Sure, but, Grux is free, Rusty and Robiin is not. And, Robiin is in a pretty good team, so is Rusty. I believe GamerLegion will reach top 30 in a few months and Finest is even closer tbh.

Devilwalk is available, Swedish coach, should work. I mean, letting HEAP find a better team would be the best option, since everyone else on the team is mediocre at best. F0rest could co-stream with Get_Right as a content creator for Dignitas. Friberg coaches a rank 50-100 team or something. Or alternatively, kick the young guys and get Olof, JW and Flusha or Maikelele to make sure it's a full Swedish retirement home. HEAP would actually make a good replacement for LNZ on NiP, maybe that would fix the roster.

Wasting f0rest as a streamer would be brain-dead, he still has some years in the tank. Imo if not for his health problems GTR could also have continued.

GTR has been bad for a very long time, the reason doesn't matter, he's not at the top level anymore and has not since around 2016. F0rest stayed on top of his game for longer, but if you watch him play you can tell there's no way he could still perform in a top 20 team, let alone as one of the best. Hallzerk and him are just farming tier 4. Lekro is not horrible, but he's not what he used to be either. Friberg you can tell by the stats. Heap is the only one who is worth competing at a high level, but he's probably wasting his career in Dignitas.
