Dignitas sign pita as new head coach

The former Copenhagen Flames coach reunites with several former Ninjas in Pyjamas teammates under the Dignitas banner.

Dignitas have announced the signing of Faruk "⁠pita⁠" Pita as their new head coach. The 30-year-old Bosnian takes over the role from Halvor "⁠vENdetta⁠" Gulestøl, who parted ways with the organization in mid-November as the Swedish side began to explore options for his replacement for 2022.

pita joins Dignitas from Copenhagen Flames amidst reports of the Danish team's potential sale to a different organization. The coach plied his trade there for the past three months, and although he was unable to stand behind the team for much of that time due to his ban from Valve-affiliated tournaments, he helped the Flames from the sidelines as they went from a top-30 team to No. 9 in the world following their impressive run at IEM Fall and PGL Major Stockholm.

Albeit his departure from the Danish organization is abrupt, it should come as little surprise to see pita join up with Dignitas. He has previously worked with three of their players across two stints with Ninjas in Pyjamas, coaching Adam "⁠friberg⁠" Friberg and Patrik "⁠f0rest⁠" Lindberg in 2014-2015 before returning to the same organization several versions later in 2018-2020 when the team featured Jonas "⁠Lekr0⁠" Olofsson and f0rest.

It is also not the first time that the 30-year-old has represented the Dignitas organization, having briefly played under the banner in 2017 alongside the likes of Mikail "⁠Maikelele⁠" Bill and Joakim "⁠jkaem⁠" Myrbostad.

pita joins Dignitas at a time when they are trying to recover from a slump in form, which saw them exit early from several consecutive tournaments in the past two months, dropping out of the top 30 of the HLTV.org ranking in the process.

Crap. They still can get someone better for sure :| He is really dragging them down more than necessary in my opinion. He is also 30, so basically done anyway... Don't tell me they can't get like flusha, or some lower swede/danish pro. There should be quite a few solid options for not that much money.

I have no idea and I thought friberg is the igl but lekr0 did lead in NIP. Also same here I don’t follow them that much. Anyways I think sergej deserves tier 1 team he was 1 of the best riflers in 2019 and now he is rifling again in gorillaz and doing good.

He definitely deserves it but the fact that FaZe, MouZ, ENCE or OG hasn't got him and they're no rumours of him going to liquid or the new EG I don't see where else he could go. Doubt Fnatic are gonna make roster changes anytime soon.

I think it will take time till 1 of the tier 1 teams gets him unless gorillaz starts to grind up the tiers but I doubt it. sergej to Fnatic is unlikely since sergej is kinda like Brollan but Finnish. Edit. sergej wanted to leave ENCE so he doesn’t want to go there anymore I think and about the other orgs I don’t know who they would change right now.

I thought sergej wanted to leave ENCE due to Allu doing some snakey shit in the roster I heard and yeah he will need to grind, reason I'd figure a team like dignitas or MouZ NXT would be perfect for him.

The biggest reason for him leaving ENCE was end of motivation and the atmosphere in ENCE where allu was big part of it. I might be biased but I think OG would be perfect for sergej since Aleksib used him perfectly in Finnish ENCE and they had played together in HAVU aswell. Even tho I like Valde alot he needs to go if he doesn’t start to improve again. Valde started doing badly after flameZ joined OG because they needed to change some roles between them.

Not even any bias tbh OG need better players than Niko and valde (At least in his current role since flamez is better than him) and sergej could definitely be the guy. He is being wasted in gorrilaz. The 9th best played in CS's most competitive year isn't something easy. Especially since he's been grinding a decent bit and still seems to have it.
