G2 set to bring in XTQZZZ, in talks with Aleksib - Report

Changes in the G2 camp are taking shape as we're heading into the winter off-season.

According to a report by 1pv.fr, G2 have completed the signing of Vitality coach Rémy "⁠XTQZZZ⁠" Quoniam to fill the spot left following Damien "⁠maLeK⁠" Marcel's departure in mid-November.

The 32-year-old has spent the last few weeks on the market after a package deal was reportedly struck for Danny "⁠zonic⁠" Sørensen to join Vitality alongside Astralis teammates Emil "⁠Magisk⁠" Reif and Peter "⁠dupreeh⁠" Rasmussen.

XTQZZZ's time on the market has been brief

XTQZZZ's addition to G2 will come as part of a larger overhaul of the European side, who have already managed to agree on a transfer of former NAVI Junior prodigy Ilya "⁠m0NESY⁠" Osipov according to a previous report by the same outlet and are still looking into changing in-game leaders.

The organization has set its sights on Aleksi "⁠Aleksib⁠" Virolainen as well, as talks have begun between G2 and OG regarding the transfer of the Finnish leader, the report says. Should the negotiations succeed, Nemanja "⁠nexa⁠" Isaković would be the one to make space for the newest addition, following François "⁠amanek⁠" Delaunay out of the door.

G2's roster for 2022 could look as follows if the changes come to fruition:

He led a team where the star player was the support and a rookie awper with no experience. He had no buisness even reaching any finals. I can understand while people doubt him, but what did Nexa do? Not winning any finals with far better players.

Did he have any other pieces? NBK is not a star player, ISSAA ist just braindead and does not belong into tier 1, and FlameZ is a Kid from tier 2 who could become good in a few years but, like a bymas, still needs a lot of experience. This line up is chronically underpowered if it comes to fire power. The only reason why he won with ence was cuz of the aug meta were everybody could have outgunned a super star player. With this g2 line up tho he has the most skilled rifler of all time, a really good rifler, a kid that is far more promissing then Mantu was, a good soldier who has quiet good skills in jackzz and one if not the best coach in the world rn. Also Aleksi seems gives of a more leader type vibe, which is important if you have to handle big egos. You can not give everything to your egoistic cunts. Look at the NiKo Faze lineups or the new Liquid.

They made it to major finals with nexa and also a lot of other finals. Not nexas fault that S1mple > niko. Aleksi didn't even make it to most playoffs while BIG made it to a lot of playoffs and I would say big players (except tabsen) are on similar level like OG players. Respect nexa. But he is better off without being igl anyway.

Valde was commonly seen as the only player that could have joined the Major winning Astralis and improved them. FlameZ and Mantuu are clearly Tier 1 players. So why do you mention Tier 2 in regards to AleksiB? Note, I'm not saying AleksiB is a bad IGL however he hasn't proven any credentials to say he is better than Nexa to lead an international squad. Personally I think AleksiB's style will clash with NiKo and Hunter.

Aleksib is tactical genius. He is most know of his signature tactic "going B, but then going A". He also has second little known tactic of " going A, but going A. but for real he is upgrade over nexa easily and he is not overrated in any aspect. If G2 picks him they can get to major final again easily

Problem is their roles are fucked up. If you bring an awper for Amanek, you need a support, if you change Jackz, you need an entry (that can be NiKo but it will be a bit of a waste, since when he dies on first 20seconds they have no clue on what to do that round), if you change Nexa, you need an IGL.

People don't realize that nexa had to play most shitty positions since niko joined and when amanek became awp nexa had to play bait positions for niko + igl + be main support and he still managed to have some decent tournaments. Most players would have constant 0.7 rating over months. I really think its a good choice for NEXA. Because now he can finally be in a team in which he can use his potential. Smart players like nexa are rare if I would be an org I would get his ass asap

Its the orgs decision at the end of the day, alot of pro players talk about how its just a job at this point and treat it professionally, not having to deal with what players to pick up and changes are needed etc because it can be stressful, I believe VP players said this for removing sanji. Ie. Did you think s1mple chose all players like perfecto boomich, b1t? Some of them were plan D's or straight from academy team or no namers. Iirc g2 was rumored soft inquire about aleksib without the players knowing. Nexa with Visa issues and no big wins, its a no brainer g2 are starting to make a decision since its their money at risk.

I do not agree with that choice for now. Nexa is the only player in G2 who is defensive, everybody else is almost too agro. With +monesy+aleksib -jackz-nexa it's rather weird as everyone is extremely active and in my eyes it's harder to gel. Amanek is an amazing player and I am looking forward to seeing him back on his beloved role, but I think nexa's anchoring is something they will lack. Not bias or anything, just trying to make the best fit, they obviously know better than I do and I assume they will swap players around to try and make the best setup they can.

Way I see it working is: Aleksi and Niko very agro. Monesy and hunter a bit less agro, monesy can be more "supportive" to trade stuff, hunter is more lurky and so on and so forth. Nexa anchors or be that guy to trade when needed, Nexa does understand when and what needs to happen. With -nexa +amanek there you lack a player with a bit more defensive mindset, anchors are kinda "boring" but you need that in a team for opponents to struggle with dynamics - is next target Niko in my face of Nexa in some strong position waiting me to make my next step? Cause without that they all have proactive mindsets and it basically becomes an ultra stacked version of Furia I guess. Which actually sounds like a very fun team to watch ngl...

Bro there is no space for nexa if they take aleksi. It is known that nexa doesn't want to igl and be a normal player instead. But only way he can stay in g2 as a player is if they remove jackz and nexa becomes the entry but I'm 100% sure nexa doesn't want that because he is way too smart to be the human decoy and go die first. what? That does not even make sense, no new players collide with most Nexa's roles, that's my point - no one in that supposed lineup is an anchor or defensive. Aleksib is active, Niko is active, hunter is active, amanek is active, monesy is active. Jackz goes for monesy. we had Astralis dominance with gla1ve being igl and active, Magisk being anchor and secondary caller. Nexa is good as a player, I think he would be insane as a secondary IGL. But I know amanek can also do it... So what kind of setup do you even have in mind there? I don't understand it one bit?

AleksiB is good, but not to replace Nexa, just let Nexa be the entry like he used to be. Or at least a trial period after the acquisition like when they looked between KennyS, Jackz and Amanek who would be best on the team after getting NiKo. If they get AleksiB they should swap between Jackz, Amanek and Nexa to see which of them is the best to keep, and I suspect it will be Nexa. And XTQZZZ is a weird addition, idk if he's a good coach or not, probably yes, though I doubt he's better than MaLeK, but in interviews you can see that his English is crap, he wouldn't be able to do anything on an international team. Why not Kassad? He's probably the best coach after Zonic, he's from the Balkans like NiKo, HuNter and Nexa, and he has been working in English for most of his career.

He used to be Entry, he picked up the IGL role out of necessity and then his gameplay decreased because he had to focus on IGLing, and that's why he stopped being Entry, because an Entry needs to practice aim, which Nexa no longer had time for. And he has more future than Jackz too, the latter is 29 years old and will probably diminish soon and then retire. Amanek is 28. Nexa is just 24. Either way, to see which one would be the best fit, a rotating trial-period would be the best option.

A mate of mine from serbia confirmed it from an interview nexa had a few weeks ago with serbian media. where i am going with my comments is fairly obvious. og always had a severe lack of firepower. who's the starplayer in og? i never could tell. valde? sometimes he never even joins the server. mantuu? we never saw him clutching in situations where it really could have turned around the match. and the others? well.. issaa had only one talent and that was +w and he did that so often it could be called retarded. nbk openly admitted in an interview he didn't practice his aim anymore. (he whiffed so many easy multikill situations that it was ridiculous. his professional ethic is ludicrous.) in military terms strategy can be considered a force multiplier, if the same term is applied to csgo, then we see the results of aleksib's leadership. they are easily a top20-top30 team, but they don't have enough firepower to be a serious contender in the top10.

Since Kinguin started this international superstar "Era" How many of these Lineups have we seen being consistent? Language barrier is a huge problem for most of these teams. Also i think these big orgs should all start making academy teams and start making a new generation. Like 85% tier1, tier2 players are from 1.6 or source still. There are so many good players out there who need a little push.

The international superstar era was never a thing never in Faze or G2. It's because we've seen similiar faces and similiar concepts regarding these teams. I don't think you can just choose players up to your criteria you need bond with them or atleast some what concept regarding how it works. What Vitality needs is concept for this roster, you could do something like Paperwork VItality where you can create smth like Na'Vi been doing (script) for players in their own language and just call Page this etc strat this. Academy teams have been insuficient there's lack of players that can rise to the top. Some of these are just younglings, the players can become strong enough to carry to the top. But you never had a structure in G2 Kinguin or Faze. It was always about star players and them only, Vitality went with danish trio rather then Mixing nationalities in one roster

Deal was made and i don't think it would've mattered. Na'Vi had exploited something that Vitality started in the first place 6man roster and turned it into actual deadly 5man roster by taking one of their best friends (flamie). They've done smth Vitality couldn't and in 2021 Na'Vi shown that this was one of the best moves done in long time, with the young man of b1t discovering his talent in t1. That pushed CS:GO to return to puggy ways of 2015 with executes being key component but not always

I thought nexa would remain and Jackz would leave, but it makes sense for multiple reasons that it's the other way around: 1. JaCkz is French. 2. JaCkz is huNter-'s best friend. 3. JaCkz has a great positive attitude. 4. nexa probably makes more money than JaCkz. 5. JaCkz is a better rifler than nexa and can be used as entry/bait for trade to not risk losing NiKo when executing early. 6. In my opinion nexa is not a great IGL, does not like the role and NiKo has already said he calls a lot because he has more info (implying nexa does not push for info, or that his strats are passive). 7. I think Jackz is attractive and popular, which is a plus for brands/sponsors (this is from a Marketing pov, think about it as as business for G2's brand). 8. Keeping former IGL is not usually healthy from a chemistry point of view, and we have many examples. If things go wrong/strats don't work, they may be disagreements, talk behind the back, etc. 9. This is speculation, but Id like to believe that NiKo had a say in this, or at least was informed and didn't object to it. 10. In my opinion nexa does not fit in a team with NiKo as entry, m0nesy as AWP, huNter- as anchor and Alexib as IGL. He is a great player, but the fit isn't. This is not a blameF situation. Most of nexa's engagements are not aggressive, they are from a passive position. That will be Alexib's position. Otherwise NiKo will still have to aggressively seek openers against AWPers like s1mple and ZywOo. I am not saying nexa is bad, far from it. I am trying to rationalize the decision by putting myself in the position of CSGO Tier 1 team aiming to be nbr 1 and dethrone Navi, who has handed them their asses time and time again. G2 is rebuilding around NiKo to give him the best chance to win a Major and have the best team in Tier 1. At the same time, even if Navi somehow someway dropped their level (hard to believe), you still have your French rival in Vita going all in with the Major winners Danes to help ZywOo. Plus who knows where will Astraljs be in 2022 with time to work out strats (maybe bring back devve or sign some AWPer). Gambit will be better with LAN experience. Heroic... I can't blame teams who push the enveloppe to beat the best and be the best. Sad for nexa, but I'm sure a player of his stature will not struggle to find a Tier 1 team willing to pick him up right away.

Nexa isn’t an aggressive player, he’s more of a laid back support/bait clutcher. Jackz is an aggressive entry that Hunter is super use to playing with and they have great chemistry. You may be able to convert Nexa to an entry but it’s a lot easier said then done. With everyone else on the team that’s too much guys who don’t wanna agrees and take control. You need a guy who can play the shitty roles and Jackz can do them pretty well despite they shit people give him. Only worth upgrading if it’s clearly a way better entry like konfig or something

Hunter isn't an entry fragger though that's your issue, the reason he was so upset when Jackz got kicked originally was because he loves having him as his entry and plays off of him well. Look at the whole JKS to complexity transaction, JKS fell off big time when he was forced out of his comfort role in to more of an entry/support role. It's a lot easier to say "Just move Hunter to xxx and Nexa to xxx" then actually pulling it off

This is how the move would work. Niko Hunter Monesy Nexa AlexsiB XTQZZ Alexsi is a good IGL and a lot of people don't understand that. He does do a lot of micromanaging though, which might not work with the current team they have. Alexsi has a good mind for the game and if he adjusts his IGLing style and let XTQzz mold him to a perfect fit. This team could be really good.

Aleksib has said how much he values second caller's decisions. Also that people thinks he is micromanaging way more than he actually is. I think he could be really valuable add to G2.

Great move. G2’s t sides have always been trash with nexa if NiKo doesn’t get openings and make room. Aleksib is the perfect fit for the team to reach new heights. All you smartasses saying nexa is such a good caller who ”led” them to a major grand final don’t realise that if he’s such a good ”leader” why would g2 feel the need to make a change? You aren’t in the team and don’t know anything about their calling. Aleksib has been praised by analysts over his calling, can’t say the same about nexa though

Keeping jackz is the only questionable move here, surely either nexa or amanek must be wiser role-wise. You don't need 3 players who are capable of playing entry in the same team, amanek and nexa would do the support role brilliantly while providing decent fragging power but they can also do so much more as well. Jackz is like YEKINDAR, only capable to play entry decently, his english isn't really that great (I barely know what language he is speaking in interviews even) so he wouldn't be good to put for that reason into other roles either. Amanek has decent english and nexa could help aleksi with calls every now and then, imagine the combined brain power with aleksib, nexa and xtqzzz on the same team (+NiKo when he isn't malding).
