NBK returns to Counter-Strike with MOUZ

The "Kingmaker" returns to CS:GO after six months away from the game.

MOUZ have announced the signing of Nathan "⁠NBK-⁠" Schmitt to round out their 2022 roster, bringing their period of restructuring to a conclusion. The addition of the two-time Major winner is an injection of much-needed experience to the young lineup.

NBK- made his last CS:GO appearance in Flashpoint 3 with DBL PONEY, standing in for the French squad while on the bench of OG. The Frenchman has been on the sidelines since June 2021 following his intention to transition to VALORANT, but the move to Riot Games' first-person shooter never occurred.

NBK will return to CSGO with MOUZ

Throughout his career, the French rifler has played in some of the most successful French teams in CS:GO, collecting a total of 22 LAN trophies including two Majors at DreamHack Winter 2014 and DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca 2015 with LDLC and Envy, respectively.

After stints with G2 and Vitality, NBK- joined his first international lineup, taking part in OG's venture into CS:GO. Despite a couple of runner-up finishes, a poor start to 2021 led to his benching from the squad.

NBK- will be joining a MOUZ team in transition. The international squad has experienced several changes in the past month, seeing the departure of long-time star player Robin "⁠ropz⁠" Kool, coach Torbjørn "⁠mithR⁠" Nyborg, and the benching of Frederik "⁠acoR⁠" Gyldstrand. In their place, Ádám "⁠torzsi⁠" Torzsás and Dennis "⁠sycrone⁠" Nielsen were promoted from MOUZ NXT to kickstart a new era for MOUZ.

"I could see a great org, great talent, and a great team overall where the position I would have within the roster is exactly where I want to be," said NBK- in regards to his decision to join MOUZ. "At this point in my career, I want to be in a place where I believe in everyone, in winning trophies, and exploring everything that we can," he continued.

"Success is coming. It is just a matter of when it will come, but I have no doubts that it is going to work."

As things stand, the new-look MOUZ will debut at the IEM Katowice Play-in on February 15.

NBK is a super decorated veteran player who's not completely dogshit. torzsi has 0 tier 1 experience and dexter seems to still be learning how 2 IGL in EU properly. W/o ropz the the team has lower expectations aswell, so they can slowly improve. It's a shame if they don't perform though, wasting Frozen's talent like that.

If you guys paid attention to the ropz comments in the HLTV ranking, he said they lack someone with a leadership mindset, NBK has always had that and was the guy doing motivational talks in EnVyUs. The 2021 MOUZ NXT would win easy against this trash lineup. Bymas is a good player, but nothing beyond that. Dexter is trash, as a player and also as an IGL. NBK wont be even a good player he will get less than 0.95 rating against tier 1. Torzi is too young and dont have the experience to carry this team. Frozen is a top player, but he is almost solo in this line up.

If dexter/nbk are playing igl/support -> bymas has to stepping up fragging to be really competitive… At this point I think I would have preferred to get a fifth young gun and set everything on fresh talent .. but looking back at mouz history .. they always had with Chris/Karrigan some experienced players … so it makes sense in this case …

im not overwhelmed but im optimistic the longer i think about the team dynamics. most people dont expect anything from them cuz "no star" signed with torzi & nbk, but maybe they can suprise. if frozen/torzi carry as expected in their roles and bymas gets the room to explode, it can work. we will have to see how much nbk can bring to the team and how well dexter/bymas can improve, cuz if they dont, its their last chance in t1 cs. bymas is still young, but it will have been over 2 years if it doesnt work out.

I feel a little bid bad for NBK (he could do good in team like dbl poney or some T3 team as IGL/mentor), but if you look at mouz roster you sum it up like this: Lack of firepower. This team will get destroyed by T1 teams and maybe even T2 (unless torzsi goes mental). And IF torzsi will be great, which i doubt they still won't have firepower and became something like budget vitality. One way or another it will be fail. They could've pick up better players or promote some yougster, they got experienced IGL.
