BIG promote Krimbo to main squad

The youngster will be taking over Nils "⁠k1to⁠" Gruhne's place in the starting five.

BIG have announced the promotion of Karim "⁠Krimbo⁠" Moussa from the academy team, which marks the first time a player from BIG Academy is moved up to the German organization's main squad on a permanent basis.

Krimbo is the first BIG player to be promoted from the academy

Before making the move permanent, BIG handed Krimbo a trial during the PGL Major Antwerp Europe RMR Open Qualifiers, where he helped the team secure a spot at the Europe RMR in the third open qualifier by posting a 1.19 rating in the squad's 1st place run.

The youngster comes from two stints in BIG Academy, in 2020 and 2022, while spending 2021 in ALTERNATE aTTaX and cowana. In his last period with BIG Academy he was the captain and in-game leader, came second at WePlay Academy League Season 3, and posted a 1.15 average rating since the beginning of the year.

Krimbo will stay in the main squad in lieu of k1to, whom he substituted in the RMR qualifers. The 23-year-old will go the opposite way and has now been moved to BIG Academy where he will be in charge of leading the youngsters.

"I was very excited when I heard the team wanted to play the Major qualifiers with me, and now very happy that I will be a permanent addition to the team," Krimbo said. "I have big shoes to fill, but I am confident especially after successfully qualifying for the EU RMR.

"Thank you for all of the support and of course best of luck to my BIG OMEN Academy teammates moving forward!"

tiziaN is best friends with tabsen and an important part of the team. He adds the most to the mentality and always incorporates new players the most. He will not get benched, get over it. Also consider that he plays support, always dropping guns and taking less favourable spots on the map. His average would be higher with a better role, as he is one of -if not the best- aimer in the team.

tiziaN plays all the bad roles and fills up place as needed. Those who don't notice that and that it's thing that one needs to do are likely pretty clueless what TEAM CSGO means. He is one of the the best players in tier 1 cs at playing bad roles.

I was specific that he is one of the best at doing shit stuff that has to be done. There are more versatile players but roles are not that specific in CSGO, some support players are utility focused, others are more aware of filling up gaps and swapping in place of their fallen allies. But tizian does his work in BiG well and that's not work you see in stats like rating. He's mostly in places setting up his team mates, covering asses, filling gaps, yoloing when there's no entry flash. There are "support" players with higher stats but those players usually get some better roles on some maps while tizian does not get many of those.

k1to is one trick pony imo. he plays 2 maps well and always does well on them, has one deagle upset round per BO3 and that's about it. Every other map he's struggling to deliver average.

Sadly thats the truth. Kito must be disappointed in his performance as well. At the beginning tabsen said that kito could be the best german player, atm it doesnt seem like he will be able to deliver on that in the future. I dont quite understand why he's in the academy team now, contract reasons? Maybe they allow him to stay in the game this way until he finds a new team?

k1to has potential, if he could deliver 70% of his one trick pony ability across the board he'd be a solid player with a hell of an impact. But he's 10/10 in few very limited scenarios, otherwise a 4/10. Just lack of dedication on his part, no excuses. I assume it's the contract keeping him in, players usually receive lower salary when on bench so him playing in the academy is probably keeping the cash flow for him. Considering the lack of care he had to expand his arsenal during the time in BiG I'd say it's what he is after at this point, money. Cause I doubt any reputable team would want him after this, this sounds like the end of k1to in tier 1 or 2 so why not grab the last penny you can while looking for other options in your life.

Tbh there are not many consistent entry fragger. Boombl4, nafany, Rain, all struggle to get consistency. Even yedinkar can be off and on ct side , he is not playing support roles like many entry fragger. So, It help to boost his stats.

I was more talking about the coaching role. Their post-match analytics and preparation seem dogshit. They are trying to improve at what they are already good at and completely ignore what costs them matches again and again. tabseN is a good caller but that's about it, you don't win by mid-round calls only.

This was a long time coming. k1to seems like a good guy, but he has 2 maps where he performs well. Everything else is maybe one deagle round that works out cause of his 2 kills, otherwise a hindrance to the team. He got waaaaaaaaay more than enough time to expand his own arsenal and not be good at those few limited scenarios. And he barely got any improvement over that amount of time, I feel like he got 4x more than any top tier team would allow him.

agreed. this should be viewed as potential proving ground rather than a downgrade for k1to. short-lived inconsistency can be pardoned, but there's a limit to things. no team should make fnatic's mistake of waiting for LAN events because they aren't 'onliners', they had few good results when the online era started, but the team just fell apart from a stats and psychological pov.

I understand players have a preference in maps and positions but with near infinite amount of data existing online to how each position should be played in each specific context and scenario it's down right inexcusable to not learn it in some reasonable amount of time of you being paid to be a pro player.

the mechanical part has a decently high skill ceiling, but yeah definitely the other aspects are simply far more difficult and require understanding the game by the means of watching demos, improving utility usage, mid-round calling (despite not being the IGL. this is a desired and a welcomed quality because it indicates that there's someone else in the team apart from the coach that can put their opinion on the table), etc. Definitely a lot of work to be done. I'd assume good rapport. There's always crucial aspects outside the game that are vital to a team. Jackz is certainly not a star by looking at his stats, but the ambience he brings along is why g2 brought him back from the bench, instead of seeking a star to make a 'superteam'. yeah but he is not ever in place to kill, multifrag or being setup for the thing. 1) he's a follow up to players who are being setup to enter the site, if they work it's great, if they don't he's in a disadvantageous situation. 2) he plays positions where things do not happen much, so many rounds can pass without him even being a part of the round - but he still needs to be there because if there's no one in that place good teams will abuse that. 3) when he's first one to go in it's usually without much utility and to let his star players win. He plays the worst role when he's never in place to do much. You cannot count kills that way and compare it to syrson who is always flashed in, they always buy him awp, throw 2000$ worth of utility to manufacture a perfect peek. I don't see how can anyone compare that with a straight face. I do not see how can one think that both should do similarly well even tho from the base standpoint - tizian is with shit buy half of the rounds and team rarely spends utility to place him in a good place. If you put s1mple in tizian's positions he wouldn't do much more. to me it's weird that coaches and pros to praise his work but clueless bots who think best team is 5 stars team think he sucks. -tizian is bad cuz good rapport with core, this is a good move. young talent in main team (which is always good cuz once they begin to adjust, they'll shine) and experience in the academy squad, which is definitely trying to get to mouz NXT's level (3rd season went well, but you can't be satisfied with 2nd place all the time) and make the 'best academy team' question tough to answer. might look like a huge L for k1to but tbh, this could probably be like adding hobbit to the 4-man gambit youngsters core. i know it's not comparable because hobbit has a major in his belt and is relatively more experienced than k1to, but hey, wishful thinking isn't that bad.

I’m aware of the positions tizian plays, and I agree he’s a solid role player but that last part of that whole statement where he says “if you put simple in his positions he wouldn’t do much more” is completely incorrect. If you look at moments where Tizian isn’t handicapped by bad spots he still looks very meh, it’s more of an issue to do with his aim. It’s easier to have someone with good aim learn to do what Tizian does.

you are correct about the s1mple part but i think you forget that tiziaN has pretty good aim and even if you have someone with better firepower learning everthing tiziaN does and doing it better is pretty much impossible for a youngster. just look at drop, Kyojin, etc. altough i think JDC would be great for them since he is supportive/entry
