Party Astronauts, Evil Geniuses, and paiN complete PGL Antwerp Americas RMR team list

The 16 teams who will compete at the Americas RMR in Romania for six spots in PGL Major Antwerp have been determined.

The second open qualifier for the PGL Major Antwerp Americas RMR event has come to a close, awarding Party Astronauts, Evil Geniuses, and paiN the final three spots on offer at the event taking place in Bucharest, Romania from April 11-14.

GODSENT, meanwhile, were one of the only highlight teams who failed to make it through the two qualifiers, dropping a close series to TeamOne in the first qualifier before faltering to ATK this time around, unable to get anything going on the T side of Overpass.

autimatic continued to have stellar impact for EG, helping them qualify

All three of the teams to advance this time around had taken part in the first open qualifier, but had their runs come to early ends ahead of the qualifying round. It was a particularly crushing loss for Evil Geniuses, who entered the qualifier as one of the favorites to advance, but the Jake "Stewie2K" Yip-led side made good on their second attempt to make it through.

Wins over UYU and Carpe Diem on day two led into a series against paiN to qualify, in which Timothy "autimatic" Ta and Stewie2K were the stand-out players in helping take a 2-0 victory.

On the other side of the bracket, Party Astronauts secured their own spot in the Americas RMR through a considerably easier path through the bracket, beating DotMax, ATK, and Snakes Den en route to qualifying on day two. Ben "ben1337" Smith's side ended the day on a high note and they came out on top of Evil Geniuses in the grand final, locking in the top seed from the second qualifier over the more experienced side.

paiN, meanwhile, took down two ESL Challenger sides — Gaimin Gladiators and Third Impact — before dropping their qualifying series to Evil Geniuses, but were able to recover and qualify for the RMR through the third place decider match by easing past Snakes Den.

Following the conclusion of the second open qualifier, the complete team list for the PGL Major Antwerp Americas RMR event looks as follows:

no problem, but only if they increase the spots in SA and greatly reduce the spots in NA maybe to 2 or 3 so we dont get these dogshit NA teams wasting spots at the americas RMR qualifier

what? honestly right now it's fair I thought it was uneven but its an 8-8 split Furia taking the NA legend spot or what ever the spot Furia is taking called which is fine

that split will change according to how the regions performs. There is a possiblity that in the future, you will see NA teams trying to qualify from SA regionals

i don't think so being fair is the main goal for split reasons this is actually good as well top SA teams normally live in NA like pain, team one and I think mibr as well furia when they are not in EU I wouldn't mind for tournaments that has a number of teams from both regions, not just a handful plus this only for online events once lan events are back it will NA lans and SA lans but for online it will be a even split literally no reason to more it if the teams suck they will get better from then expience and suck less next time edit I might be wrong about this if I remember the rmr was like the Americas as a plan event so it might have always been like this except with more legend spots and teams

btw it was always out number since the the rmr is 8 SA teams and 7 NA godsent, team one and pain are kinda NA since they play in NA and live there always have played in NA quali so I don't mind I just don't know how they are 8 SA spots in general idk the SA scene to well but ik the top teams normally play In NA like the teams i stated earlier and mibr other than imperial, 9z, sharks and 00 idk the other outside sao caetano is a football team but i guess they gonna prove them selfs here

team one, pain and godsent are good for the scene as well mibr I have no problem with them being there as well as furia because they considered NA with the legendary spot they make the scene better on a whole

Lol. CSGO was dying in the states before Valorant came along. Blame games that get regularly updated. Blame orgs for pulling out the game entirely etc. Not just Valorant.

on top of Valorant and orgs pulling out, the NA bracket allowed SA teams to use the NA qualifier too. Its not inherently bad because it gives opportunities to those NA based South America Teams, but it also stunts growing rosters like Strife and Orgless from qualifying to bigger events to improve on an international level.

it actually improves the growth it don't stun them one bit the fact that teams can scim godsent that is an experienced team in always a good thing they just need to become better than them because they can be mediocre once they go to EU. the only problem with the bracket honestly was the seeding they literally was seeded by elo in the first quali if strife didn't beat eg it would have been EG vs Liquid on the other hand if a team like stife they had to play against liquid the next day. As well on day 2 on rmr #2 we literally had godsent vs and PA in the same braket in the first 2 rounds its very top heavy which could have been resolved

NA is consol gamers also very adhd they love updates new things and shiny things but in this situation pain and team one and godsent are considered NA they live in NA and always did NA qualifiers

I really liked this format, but some seedings were kinda unfair in some brackets, but I hope they stick to this format for the next major and so

While I agree regarding seedings, if you cannot get past a bad seed in Qualifying, then it is a low chance you'll get past Groups in the RMR. Having said that, I think there is room to make the Final 32/16 all BO3 until the seeding matches. Or if they want BO1, then Swiss/DBL-Elim is good too. Single Elim BO1 is harsh even if good teams should still float to the top.

Even though it's harsh, they want the open RMRs to be done in a very short time frame.

Including 1-2 more BO3s would only extend the qualifying by a single day. They'd still wrap it all up in a week.

This format is way better than gathering RMR points throughout events! GGWP to those who qualified!

Harsh reality for Godsent and almost inexcusable for the organization to not make the American RMR. I wonder if there are changes to come. Also where does ATK belong in this? Barely has any NA or SA players. Africa belongs to this region?
