The 22-year-old will be trying out with the team for a month.

Into the Breach have announced that they will play with AWPer Owen "⁠smooya⁠" Butterfield for a month, covering one of two spots left open on the roster after Yaroslav "⁠isk⁠" Issakov was benched and Kirk "⁠Tadpole⁠" Stephens moved to a substitute position on Wednesday.

The British AWPer will man the ‘big green’ in place of isk, having already stood in for the benched sniper in late February and early March in two Pinnacle Winter Series 3 Regionals matches, a loss to eSuba and a victory over KOVA.

The Huddersfield native will be on trial with ITB

"Smooya is joining ITB as trial for the next month," team manager Marvin "Punico" Matthes told HLTV, "bringing his extensive knowledge, skill and insight to our young and promising U.K. roster. We hope this is the start of something bigger and momentous for U.K. CS:GO. Let's see where this road leads."

smooya’s trial with Into the Breach comes off the back of a turbulent ending to his time in fnatic, where early success in late 2021 was followed by subpar performances from both the team as a whole and the AWPer individually after the turn of the year, which ended in the 22-year-old being removed from the active lineup and eventually released into free agency.

The British organization also stated in their announcement tweet that they will publicize their permanent roster "in due course," as there is one spot in the starting five still unaccounted for.

its sad for isk too, isk is a good awper and i enjoyed watching him, but from the perspective of wanting to add some experience to a younger roster, and a promsing one which is coming up in the scene, this move makes sense i guess.

No reason? His toxic behaviour results an ultimatum from Krimz to the managers: One of them will leave the team. Either they kick Smooya, or he will leave the team. And we can see the reasult.
