The Natus Vincere IGL is set to miss the start of their group stage campaign as he is suffering from a bout of COVID.

Reigning Major champions Natus Vincere will have to play without their IGL for the start of their ESL Pro League group stage, with Kirill "⁠Boombl4⁠" Mikhailov missing due to testing positive for COVID.

Daniil "⁠headtr1ck⁠" Valitov of NAVI Junior, who has been listed as a substitute for the team in their official tournament lineup, will step in for the CIS side. The organization has stated that the academy player will compete from isolation after traveling to Düsseldorf at the last minute.

NAVI will have to make do without their IGL

The news comes in the wake of a shaky start to the year for the CIS giants, who scraped through their BLAST Premier Spring group and exited IEM Katowice at the semi-final stage, the latter result coming shortly following the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Oleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev and co. would have been hoping for an upswing of form in a very winnable group at ESL Pro League, with HEROIC likely the toughest opposition on offer, and this substitution will undoubtedly hamper their preparation.

With their RMR starting a mere seven days after ESL Pro League finishes, now is the time for the team to start working back towards their peak ahead of the PGL Major Antwerp.

Argueable, perfecto only has more clutches in 1x1, boombl4 has more in 1x2, 1x3 (1x4 is tied and 1x5 none of them have). the k/d against tier 1 and 2 teams is pretty much the same, with boombl4 performing an IGL function. I'm not saying perfecto is bad, but I don't think he's more important than boombl4 in this lineup.

No way boombla has same amount of clutches as perfecto. If you're talking about 2022 then it could be true because of the small sample size of events. As IGL you need a common sense of the person part of the players. Zeus wasn't a genius but he can obv work very well with humans. Karrigan is the same. S1mple tactic book is very straight and never includes a full plan. He can say "throw flash they come fromxyz" thats all. Just how to react. As IGL you need far more. Electronic IGL some maps in the past. The issue was on T-side they sucked so hard...

I've know two people who got it twice this year already. And they're much healthier than boombl4, non smoking and pretty fit. Second time was much milder but it does happen with different variants. And considering he lives quite unhealthy he is at higher risk of this happening. Not saying the other stuff isn't the reason but it's plain wrong that you can't get it twice in this timespan.
