00NATION upset Liquid, Complexity earn North America's first RMR win

The concluding matches of the first round saw victories from paiN, Complexity, 00NATION, and MIBR.

Round 1 of the Americas Regional Major Ranking has come to an end, with Brazilian teams continuing their success in the tournament after winning three out of the last four matches played in the opening round. paiN and MIBR got the better of their opponents in tightly-contested matches, emerging as the victor against Evil Geniuses and 9z, respectively.

In what should have been a more competitive match from ESL Pro League quarter-finalists Liquid, Marcelo "⁠coldzera⁠" David's 00NATION dominated most of the game against Jonathan "⁠EliGE⁠" Jablonowski and his squad to claim a 1-0 standing early in the event.

On the other hand, the Johnny "⁠JT⁠" Theodosiou-led Complexity gave the North American region their first win of the Americas RMR tournament, overcoming TeamOne on Nuke by taking control of the game on their T-side after a back-and-forth first half between both teams.

The round 2 draw is coming up next, which will determine which teams will face off against one another in the second set of matches for the day.
