Round 5 matchups at Americas RMR set

Six teams are left fighting for just one spot at PGL Major Antwerp.

The final Swiss stage matchups of the PGL Major Antwerp Americas RMR have been determined using the Bucholz system, with the final round set to kick off on Thursday at 11:00 and the tiebreaker round to follow on Friday.

Six teams are currently left standing with 2-2 records, but pressure is incredibly high for all of them as, with only one more spot on offer in Antwerp to the Americas, just winning this final round of the Swiss stage won't be enough to get them through to the Major.

The final draw of the Swiss round will first see to the elimination of three teams, kicking off with São Caetano taking on 9z at the start of the day. Simultaneously, a first-place decider match between FURIA and MIBR will unfold on the secondary stream, determining which of the two teams will advance directly to the Legends Stage.

Following that, paiN will go up against fellow Brazilian side Case, while the day will be brought to an end with a second domestic battle between Evil Geniuses and Party Astronauts — a match where a win is entirely required for EG given the expectations behind the roster and their dismal form since their inception.

The three teams who emerge victorious from their final matchups will then be placed in a 6-8th place decider bracket in order to play for the final spot, with the highest-seeded team advancing directly to the sixth-place decider match, and the other two battling through the eighth-place decider.
