Outsiders withdraw from IEM Dallas 2022 Closed Qualifier

Apeks will replace the East Europe squad in the online qualifiers starting on May 2.

Outsiders will not take part in the European qualifiers for IEM Dallas 2022 after withdrawing from the event following problems in acquiring the necessary visas, ESL announced on Twitter. Apeks will take their spot, being the highest-ranked team from the European open qualifiers.

The news comes as a blow to Dzhami "⁠Jame⁠" Ali's team as they were considered among the favorites to take one of the two available qualifying spots from the tournament.

This is not the first development in the Outsiders/Virtus.pro camp to come to light recently as reports of Mareks "⁠YEKINDAR⁠" Gaļinskis' possible departure after the PGL Major in Antwerp were released earlier today.

After their roster overhaul at the start of 2022 which saw names such as Martin "⁠STYKO⁠" Styk and Joakim "⁠jkaem⁠" Myrbostad join the organization, Apeks have not had the results they might have hoped for. This qualifier presents itself as the perfect chance for the squad to attend a tier-one LAN, but they will face an uphill battle, facing an in-form BIG on the opening match, and only two out of eight teams advancing.

The first round of matchups for the Closed Qualifiers is:

12:30 - Entropiq vs fnatic | BO3
16:00 - Movistar Riders vs MOUZ | BO3
16:00 - Apeks vs BIG | BO3

IEM Dallas is supposed to take place between May 30 - June 5, and will see 16 teams battle it out for the lion's share of $250,000 in the heart of Texas.

Teams attending the North American LAN include some of the world's best such as Natus Vincere, FaZe, and Cloud9 as well as some up-and-coming squads looking to leave their mark on the international stage such as ENCE as FURIA.

Its does not really matter what individual people think about the decision of joining nato at this point. We have election next year and if current leaders don't join the nato this year, the party who has always supported joining nato will win the election and take Finland to Nato next year. We can already see that in the gallups. I personally think that most important thing would be to have fair discussion about all the options, but seems like that is not happening. Because everyone is saying that "our situation has drastically changed" while in reality it hasn't. It has just returned to the state it was for centuries until maybe last two decades.

It does really matter cuz the guy has russian flag, he support them no matter what. But since the invasion people mind in finland has changed drastically, now they feel threat from russia and want to join NATO to protect themselves from what is happening in Ukraine. And I was trying to get his logic, more than 62% respondents are positive about joining the nato, all the sober people in finland understand that russia is not good for them and it's a big threat. What his logic covered with? Does he understand that he is living with people that are against russia, how will he handle it?

That makes sense what you said. But I can tell you that I personally don't know any Finnish person who supports or accepts russia in their actions in Ukraine at any level. History has taught us to always be wary of russia. However I do know many who don't want to join nato for many reasons. Those things do not correlate. Meaning that by all likelihood the first finnish guy probably is either fakeflagger russian or emo 12 years old who wants to go against the flow.

So it seems to me that Outsiders aren't going to PGL at this point (I got some Yekindar clips deleted that he talked about the next major). Yekindar seemed hesitant when someone asked him about him going the next major. And yesterday SAW just posted on twitter something about them ''coming back 👀'' with a photo of Mutiris at the PGL smiling. It can be the COPIUM talking... Or are they letting Portugal dream?
