BIG and Movistar replace NAVI and Entropiq at IEM Dallas

Due to visa complications the CIS squads are unable to attend.

Movistar Riders and BIG have received surprise invitations to IEM Dallas, it was announced today via the IEM Twitter page, after Entropiq and Natus Vincere were forced to withdraw due to visa complications.

The replacements were invited in accordance with ESL's replacement rules, with Copenhagen Flames invited ahead of the two aforementioned names, but unable to accept.

BIG recently attended the PGL Major Antwerp

BIG will be hoping to improve on what was a relatively disappointing showing at the PGL Major Antwerp, especially considering their stellar form at the RMR, whilst Dallas will be the first tier-one outing for Movistar Riders since they crashed out of the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown at the hands of Astralis.

I talked with someone from another esports org at the VIP Area at the CS GO Major, (wont say names) he said FaZe loses average 20-30M money a year they pump in. that's way more than any other esports org. it's only a matter of time before FaZe collapses financially.

I feel NaVi are figuring out whether they should continue with the current squad or make roster changes. If electronic and boombl4 leaves, then they need to find proper replacement. They cannot take this in hurry because both are key pieces and backbone of NaVi. Also, if they choose to make roster change and participate in such a small time, higher probability is that they will be humiliated and made joke of. This looks better to not participate and take your time in rebuilding.

No, NaVi CEO said in March they will not keep players who are aligned towards Russia. Means, if there are Russian players who are willing to switch their citizenship to Ukranian, then it is fine else they will not allow any Russian players in their roster. Currently, electronic, boombl4 and Perfecto are the Russians in the team. Perfecto is fine but there are rumours around electronic and boombl4 that they might leave NaVi

Actually that's not entirely true. Broky said it was easier playing Navi than playing Spirit. Also, the only team Faze lost a map to in Major was Ence and NIP. So definitely I feel Faze is more afraid to play with a younger team who's not scared of anything. Teams like Navi, Heroic, C9 would be very easy for Faze because they always play slow with fix strats.

Ence won't have Spinx. Snax will replace him, so that's an easy one for Faze then. Meanwhile, while NIP won a map, that's mostly because their map pool works relatively well against Faze. They play Vertigo and Overpass while also being a good Ancient team. Faze have a harder time preparing against them, so NIP will always have a chance to sneak a map in that Faze are weaker on.

Another example was Spirit. They were so close on winning D2 but just lost due to nerves/lack of experience. Even Navi didn't make Faze sweat like that (the CT inferno was more like Faze hard choked). I am just saying I would be more surprised if Faze loses to well-prepped teams like Heroic, C9 than spontaneous teams like Spirit, Ence or Flames.

No way they'd ever lose to Flames. Flames are at best a top 15 team. Spirit is explosive, but so far it's been one tournament where they played extremely well. I'm interested to see if they can continue to step it up. Though Spirit isn't in Dallas either. ENCE with their normal line-up are similar to NIP where they can flex the map pool a bit and win a map. But Spinx won't be there in Dallas (if Snappi didn't lie to me in Antwerp) because of visa issues. Snax will replace him and that's their best performer gone.

Again, I never say that Faze WILL lose to those teams. All I said was that based on the playstyle and strats we have seen in the major, it looks like Karrigan really knows how to counter the teams with well-prep strats. However, against teams with less tactics but more skills, Faze seems to be a bit shaky and many rounds they can't counter. So in terms of possibility wise, I would put my $ on Faze losing to a dark horse team rather than to lose vs a top 10 team.

I would still favor Na'Vi beating Faze over Spirit beating Faze. While Na'Vi really just need to figure out a way to get s1mple to play well against them, for a team like Spirit or Flames the stars would have to align. You could maybe make the argument that in a bo1 group-stage game this wouldn't be the case, but I don't call that 'beating' Faze. I'll consider it when they actually have a chance of winning a BO3.

NA CS is dead, why even bother hosting competitions over there? CS is purely EU/SA game now. Also, US embassies can do a better job by allowing young foreign talents (even from Russia) to come for an event, considering the amount of illegals in their country who stay there indefinitely.
