Evil Geniuses to field one of new rosters at Pinnacle Cup

The boys that previously represented Party Astronauts will compete at the $250,000 event.

EG White will be the team that the North American organization will send to Lund, Sweden to play in the Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022. The lineup will compete at the European LAN, debuting under their new organization following Evil Geniuses's acquisition of the Party Astronauts roster.

It will be the lineup's return to the Old Continent following their last event in April, when they competed at the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 Americas RMR and finished 9-11th at the Romanian LAN.

Lund will be the debut for the former PA squad under the EG banner

Evil Geniuses acquired the Party Astronauts and Carpe Diem rosters in early June, launching their 'Blueprint' project with which they aim to create a fluid 15-player lineup heading into 2023, but before then they will have their three teams competing in various tournaments as separate entities.

In Lund, EG White will share Group B with Astralis, Imperial, Finest, and will play in a GSL stage of which only two squads will advance into the double-elimination, best-of-three playoffs. Their opening game will be against Astralis on Wednesday at 13:30 .

Yeah but I'd imagine a lot of these invites are to get players the average fan recognize on the stream, even if they suck or are past their prime. They helps generate viewership. Most people would recognize the names of the regular EG roster, no one outside of tier 3 NA viewers knows who the hell these Party Astronauts scrubs are.

the difference between astronauts and gambit youngsters is that the latter developed in a European environment from the very beginning and did not have to choose between family / friends and a career where, in order to become better, you need to live on another continent for months. you can't just provide players with financial support and facilities in America and expect them to perform well in big tournaments from the start. They need to start grind these scam bookie tournaments (snow sweet snow, lootbet cups etc), constantly putting PA or Carpe diem against tier 1 teams thanks to partner slot at blast or EPL wont give any results. And even if EG provides them with bootcamp facilities n Europe, it will take months, maybe years of constant grinding and practicing and noone know if it pay-off, the level of competition in EU is high af. Complexity is a top-2 NA team and they cant do shit even against tier-2,3 EU. LFO is like NAVI/FAZE in Australia, but they constantly get trashed when they have a chance to play in Europe. This is just sad.
