JW and flusha bring back EYEBALLERS

The Swedish duo with three Majors to their name have co-founded a new organization — under a historic name.

The Hellslayers lineup will be representing EYEBALLERS moving forward as Jesper "⁠JW⁠" Wecksell and Robin "⁠flusha⁠" Rönnquist joined forces to revive the iconic tag that dates back to 1998 and has a history in Counter-Strike as well as Quake.

"We are very excited to bring back EYEBALLERS and use it as a platform to develop Swedish Counter-Strike and help develop talents to new levels," JW said in a statement, who is not only a player in the roster but also the CEO. "Our long-term vision is to take back a legacy brand and make Swedish fans proud once again."

The Hellslayers lineup will represent EYEBALLERS

Players such as Björn "⁠THREAT⁠" Pers, Rasmus "⁠Gux⁠" Ståhl, Christian "⁠vilden⁠" Lidström, and Olof "⁠archie⁠" Ekdala represented EYEBALLERS in CS 1.6, with the organization's standout result being a win at CPL Summer in 2004. JW and flusha have acquired rights to the brand from the previous owners and aim to build on its history — "but not without adding our own cocky inputs," JW notes.

flusha explained that the team's success will be measured in different ways: "Either we make it back to the top which is our ultimate goal, or we at least help some of the best young talents Sweden has to offer who will have the opportunity to make it to the big leagues."

JW: "I built teams for fnatic for such a long time, maybe it's time to start my own organization in Sweden"

JW and flusha have already been working on developing the upcoming Swedish players with Hellslayers, a team that alongside them, features youngsters Anton "⁠Sapec⁠" Palmgren, Casper "⁠SHiNE⁠" Wennerberg, and Leo "⁠Svedjehed⁠" Svedjehed. The team had modest success so far, peaking at No. 62 in the ranking at the end of March after pushing Copenhagen Flames the distance in a match for spot at the BLAST Showdown.

With the support of multiple sponsors, EYEBALLERS will be hoping to make a bigger impact on the scene moving forward. Their campaign starts domestically, though, as they compete in the Svenska Elitserien Spring LAN Finals in Stockholm on June 10-11.

Hyper vilden Crw GudeN archie That was the lineup I remember and later IsKall came in as a standin for someone at one of the CPLs. He played a sick final vs SK, finally got offered a contract and then I think Hyper and vilden get poached by SK.

Eyeballers is such a classic org. Many of Sweden's biggest players back in the day have played there once. RIP Bullen. I remember watching them play on LAN 2004 I think it was, one of my first LAN events I watched IRL. Southpoint Stockholm, a fond memory for me.

As for making the distinction between being part of the team and representing them, the latter in terms of being successful if I understand correctly, I honestly disagree.
