k1to returns to BIG's main roster in place of tiziaN

Nils "⁠k1to⁠" Gruhne is back in BIG's starting five after spending five months in the academy roster.

BIG announced the return of k1to to the main team. The 23-year-old is taking the place of Tizian "⁠tiziaN⁠" Feldbusch, who will remain tied to the Berlin-based organization in a new role to build on his four-and-a-half year tenure.

k1to subbed in for BIG before being called back up to the main roster

tiziaN was not BIG's most glamorous player, sporting a 0.97 rating during his time in the team, but was a stalwart in the German organization's trophy runs at DreamHack Masters Spring 2020, cs_summit 6 Europe, DreamHack Open Summer 2020, FunSpark ULTI 2020 Europe Final, and most recently Roobet Cup 2022.

k1to makes his return to the main squad after nearly half a year since he was demoted to BIG Academy, where he took the role of in-game leader. "k1to has been working very hard on his return in the past months and has convinced with excellent performances in the BIG OMEN Academy," says Daniel Finkler, BIG's CEO, making a statement that can be backed by the player's 1.18 rating in the lower tier of competition.

k1to's presence was still felt in the first team during his time in the academy, when he came in as a substitute during BIG's Roobet Cup championship run and in the team's IEM Cologne Play-in campaign. The second time around wasn't as fruitful, however, with elimination coming early at the hands of Outsiders and Astralis.

BIG's players are already in Berlin getting ready for the second half of 2022, which will kick off for them on August 21 at BLAST Premier Fall Groups, followed up by ESL Pro League Season 16. BIG's CGO, Christian Lenz, and Chief of CS:GO, Roman "⁠Roman R.⁠" Reinhardt, will hold a press conference on Mr. Lenz's Twitch channel on Wednesday, August 10, at 20:00 .

you must not have been watching big for the past half year, tiziaN was atrocious, could not win a 1 on 1 if his life depended on it, wrong place every time, amateur weapon switch mistakes every other round, missing more bullets than landing, not capable of getting a single kill 80% of the rounds he was anchoring, it's not an easy role to play but he was maybe the very worst at it in the top20 teams for the past few months

K1to doesn't have 1% of Tizian gamesense. That is the reason why I don't get it at all. I don't think Tizian isn't replaceable but then you have to find one on his Cs iq level Do they try the Mr. Firepower move? They will fail hard.

The reason why k1to was benched instead of TiziaN is that he was playing some high frag roles (entry, secondary AWP) but was so inconsistent with not great game sense. He either posted insane ratings or bottom fragged, really no in between. Now that k1to has worked on his individual game and that Krimbo is playing these supportive roles, it makes sense to try this. This could definitely work, but it really depends on if k1to can keep consistent.

K1to can have 5 games carry performance and 5 bottom frag at 10 while tizian usually carry 1-2 games out of 10 and 8-9 bottom. They both can play support but k1to is for sure more impactful and consistent

And in the last tournament they didn't have the core 5 players playing which is always a problem. In Dallas for example they had all five and Big were 3-4th. I just hope that Kito will not be worse than Tizian because the chemistry looked great with Tizian. Kito however feel soulless whenever I watch him, even if he frags slightly more.

I feel like they changed a t3 player for a t2. Tizian defenitely was the problem of Big to begin with, not K1to, but at the same time, K1to still needs a bit more time in t2 to really appreciate what he had and grow the last bit outside of Big's doors. What's sad is though that there really aren't any german players available at a t1 level that could fill out that position.
