The legendary trio will once again compete together at the Europe open qualifiers.

Christopher "⁠GeT_RiGhT⁠" Alesund announced on Twitter that his team, d00m, will be participating in the open qualifiers for the IEM Road to Rio Europe RMR. The team's all-Swedish lineup includes former Ninjas in Pyjamas teammates Adam "⁠friberg⁠" Friberg, Patrik "⁠f0rest⁠" Lindberg, and Jonas "⁠Lekr0⁠" Olofsson, with Jack "⁠Jackinho⁠" Ström Mattsson rounding out the five-man squad.

This marks the first time the trio will compete together in nearly two years, since their time at Dignitas. In September 2020, GeT_RiGhT was benched from the team's active roster and announced his retirement in January 2021. f0rest and friberg then stayed with Dignitas until the organization announced the release of their entire CS:GO division in June 2022.

Three members of the original NIP are back for another challenge

GeT_RiGhT, f0rest, and friberg all made their Global Offensive debuts with Ninjas in Pyjamas in 2012 alongside fellow Swedes Richard "⁠Xizt⁠" Landström and Robin "⁠Fifflaren⁠" Johansson. The group was immediately a dominant force in the early days of CS:GO and proved it by setting an 87-map unbeaten streak — a record that still stands today. They are also the only team in history to reach five consecutive Major grand finals, a streak that saw the Swedes win ESL One Cologne 2014.

Road to IEM Rio Major is set to begin*

Fast-forward nearly a decade later, GeT_RiGhT, friberg, and f0rest's legacies are at a level only few have matched. With countless medals, distinctions, and trophies to their names, the trio are amongst the most renowned individuals to ever play Counter-Strike.

The quintet will compete in the Europe open qualifiers leading up to the next Major, IEM Rio. From there, qualified teams will battle it out at their respective regions' Regional Major Rankings alongside teams who finished in the top 16 at PGL Major Antwerp. The European RMR tournaments have a total of 16 spots at IEM Rio on offer.

They kicked Draken because he was consistently missing easy awp shots. Draken at nip could only hit wild flicks.

No, wrong, Draken was kicked by internal reasons (threat and his stupid ways to play), in fact twist, phzy, es3tag, were less accurate and have played worse than Draken.

es3tag isn't even an awper and it doesn't matter who was worse. Nip were still competing pretty well with get_right, forest and xizt and they wanted to keep that alive. That trio always struggled to find a good awper once csgo got bigger. Yes the team took a fall when xizt left but Draken was not consistent enough to be an awper on a top team. Of course there were internal reasons because Draken was missing easy shots every match. To say Draken was kicked for no reason is completely wrong.

You are right, es3tag is not an awper, but he is playing on that role now even when he sucks. I never said that Draken was kicked for no reason, i said he was kicked because threat never wanted him, and Draken didn’t play as threat wanted, he was aggresive mostly, taking too much risks sometimes, and that was not the NIP way and threat way. I really think that the kid needed time to grow professionally, but NIP didn’t have it.

Good luck, I guess.. I understand they are doing this for fun but at some point people should just know when to quit.

Friberg if you read this, you are a great player.. the only thing you need to improve/practice is aiming. Put in 30-60min each day to practice this and it will improve and make you a tier 1 player again.
