xccurate retires from competition

Indonesia's top sniper lays down the AWP after more than seven years of competitive play.

Kevin "xccurate" Susanto retired from professional CS:GO, the player announced on Sunday. The 24-year-old AWPer left the scene after seven years of competition in which he reached the top of Asian Counter-Strike and claimed multiple appearances at international LANs to focus on a switch to VALORANT.

The Indonesian sniper was an explosive force on the server and produced some incredible highlights with TYLOO during the team's peak in 2018.

xccurate has retired from competitive CS:GO

xccurate put his name on the radar during his time with Recca which he joined in 2016 and recorded a 1.23 rating across his time with the Indonesian squad. His performances quickly earned him a call-up to TYLOO in 2018.

He joined fellow Indonesian Hansel "BnTeT" Ferdinand and together the pair powered TYLOO to complete domination of the Asian scene. Their success would also translate internationally as the Chinese-Indonesian mix became an unpredictable upset team, capable of taking down the likes of Natus Vincere on their day.

Following TYLOO's qualification to the FACEIT London Major 2018 and runners-up finish at IEM Shanghai, the team reached its all-time peak at No.10 in the global rankings. Later in 2018, TYLOO qualified for the Legends Stage of the London Major, becoming the first Asian team to reach and compete in the top 16 of a Valve-sponsored event.

xccurate was replaced on TYLOO's active roster in June 2019 by WingHei "Freeman" Cheung, who was signed by the organization following the team's disappointing 13th-16th placing at DreamHack Masters Dallas.

The Indonesian sniper then moved on to BTRG and later NG, until the latter's dissolution led to the formation of NKT. xccurate remained with the squad until the following March when he left the active lineup to take a break from competitive play. With a move to VALORANT, xccurate will be following in the footsteps of his younger brother Jason "f0rsakeN" Susanto, who has been plying his craft in the Riot Games shooter.

His former team NKT are currently playing with the following roster:

Mongolia Gan-Erdene "dobu" Batbold
Mongolia Erdenetsogt "erkaSt" Gantulga
Mongolia Yesuntumur "nin9" Gantulga
Korea Hyun-Pyo "XigN" Lee
Thailand Krit "Kntz" Chaiprasit

Thailand Piyangoon "MYM" Kitisin (coach)

Just the fact he wrote valorant first and followed with real life is a sign of a true gamer:D What I meant is his transition to valorant, sadly

True. It is sad but I feel like it comes to a point where it’s too late to switch. I have a feeling CS pros in particular think they can just switch to the game and think they will get signed but the scene is pretty well developed. I don’t know if that’s Stewie’s plan or not. Man said he would stream CS but I’ve yet to see it.

Hah yea, agree, pros do be thinking like that, I guess. It might work for some, might not for others. Stewies is stewie, I think he's done with CS in general and I think he's hoping to pop off like turok did, which is not happening imo. but he be aight I guess. Life goes on

Tarik hit the timing right. He was still getting more viewers streaming cs but once he hit number 1 on val his channel took off and now he’s the main source for viewership in that game. You’re right Stewie is Stewie. I’ve always liked Stewie because he’s gotten hate since he came into the scene and turned himself into one of the most successful na cs players and cs in general. But he went out looking like a dumbass. Ruined his own career.

I remember him playing against some euro squads back in the days, it's a shame for the csgo scene that all these regions are so isolated from each other which makes a lot of players reconsider their future.

Sure it was obvious but during that time, he was considering many options whether to continue with cs which was too hard as he's in Asia or move on and go pro in Valorant which was a much more likeable option as Valorant actually supports Asian players and leagues in general.

Obviously he cant be compared to worldwide legends. But grind all the way to the top from a dead region like asia might be even harder, in the sense that he has to carve the path himself. No one has ever done it. What other asian team could compete with the best? Like fallen and his team, they showed how SA teams could go head to head with the elite. You see a lot of brasilian teams now a days. They are an inspiration for many... This kind of feat is an achievement all by itself, in my opinion.

Sorry dude but comparing what Fallen did with brazilian lineup vs xccurate with Tyloo is big fail. Yes fallen proved he can go with brazilian line head to head with elite teams and even dominate them and win 2 majors. Tyloo won few upsets, got easy way to major all the time due to the region and always got clapped hard in groups

Im not comparing xccurate with fallen. Obviously fallen is far greater than him. What Im trying to say is that what they both managed to do in their dead regions is worthy of respect. Fallen had a way better result, obviously, but you have to give credit to xccurate for his grind. I mean, look at NA right now. There is no scene and the teams are struggling a lot. Respect to every small team and players that keep grinding instead of switching to valorant or something.

Sadly he's kinda like past his star player days, and nobody would really want him as an IGL if he doesn't have very good English to compete in EU or NA. Don't forget he's 27 yo veteran already, wasted too much time on tyloo.

Valve is so fuckingn stupid, they don't know what they are doing with asian scene, we have so much potential here but still 0 support from them, and thats why so many players are already playing valorant, and even are one of the best in the world (teams)
