Anubis and weapon changes to feature at BLAST Premier World Final

The World Final teams will have the next three weeks to prepare a new map pool and adjust to the recent AWP and M4A1-S changes.

BLAST has confirmed to HLTV.org that the BLAST Premier World Final will be played on the latest CS:GO version, which reduced the M4A1-S' damage at range and the AWP's magazine size and replaced Dust2 with Anubis in the Active Duty map pool.

The news comes just over three weeks before the $1,000,000 competition begins, taking place on December 14-18 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The newest map will be in the pool before the end of the year already, but is it going to be played?

The tournament organizer previously revealed that this week's BLAST Premier Fall Final, set to run from November 23-27, will run on the previous version — with Dust2 still in the map pool and the M4A1-S and AWP unchanged.

With no other big event scheduled before the end of the year, that means the World Final will be the first to feature the weapon changes and potentially the first to see Anubis played among top teams.

FaZe, Natus Vincere, Vitality, and Outsiders are currently qualified for the World Final following triumphs at ESL Pro League Season 15, BLAST Premier Spring Final, ESL Pro League Season 16, and the IEM Rio Major.

They will be joined by the winner of this week's BLAST Premier Fall Final and three teams from the BLAST Leaderboard — or four in case one of the teams who had already qualified for Abu Dhabi wins the Fall Final (FaZe or NAVI).

bro keeping the casters the same is a very good decision, people get used to them and get to love them. You can connect way easily to a caster you've heard 10 times already. Plus the casters we got are so energetic and full of passion, you can't help but enjoy the hype

It indirectly does? The older players set the ground in cs, without them cs would be nowhere on the map. And if you want me to produce some kind of examples instead, we can take the AWP rework, every single type of gun rework, which was only made due to the pros using it to its highest efficiency. On the #5 comment says that removing dust2 will be valorant supremacy, but the game needs to adapt to keep going and for that u need new plp. CS dont have to compete with valorant at all.. Valorant is a completly different game then cs. The only cs pro players that converted to Valorant is the ones that coudnt make it to the top.. 4 real ! This is why Valorant is so big in NA.. They generally suck at cs!

To be honest there were lots of really cool as_ and cs_ maps that never got the attention they deserved and could be remade as de_. I really liked tundra, backalley, assault and italy. You can see that aztec probably inspired ancient, but even aztec being the turd it was was still better than ancient.

Dude vertigo was before Nuke, their release dates are listed you can verify. And vertigo was most definitely in 1.6. The thing with 1.6 and prior versions was that nothing was "official" there weren't map rotations like we have now. When I'd play on other foreign servers they'd sometimes have maps I hadn't see in a while. For sure dust, prodigy, office, train, aztec and Nuke were the staple maps. So maybe the local servers I played on had vertigo in the rotation and your local servers did not. But I can promise you that vertigo is most definitely one the oldest maps, it's always been one of my favourite maps in all iterations.

+1 I have not played it yet, but I really like the look of it and it is very reminiscent of de_dust (not d2) in both look and layout (judging by streams). dust was obviously a terrible map but let's see what the pros think of anubis. I wish they had removed ancient instead of d2, though. That map really needs a rework.

The nerf of m4a1-s make it much wearker in long distance damage. Sometimes you may have a illusion that you missed the shot... It need the time to get used to it. BTW, it is a funny and chaotic situation for the conventional tier 1 teams. It gives every team which qualify the World Final the chance to win the 500k. It depend on who could study hard and successfully with new map and weapons in such a short time. Let's see how it goes~
